Town of Bedford – Winter Weather Update

We appreciate everyone’s patience as we continue working through winter weather conditions.

Town offices will be closed on Tuesday, January 27. Mandatory employees should report as directed, and essential services will continue as conditions allow.

Roads: Public Works crews are actively plowing and treating roads, starting with main routes (highway-numbered roads such as 122, 221, and 43) and then moving into residential areas. Salt and ice melt are being applied, though extremely cold temperatures limit effectiveness. Crews will remain at work until all roads are cleared as conditions allow.

For road condition updates, residents may contact Public Works at (540) 587-6081.

Trash Collection: With road conditions improving, regular trash collection will resume Tuesday, January 27. To get back on schedule, Monday customers will be collected on Wednesday, along with regularly scheduled Wednesday service.

Electric Service: Power systems remain stable, with no widespread outages reported. Please be mindful that extended cold temperatures may lead to higher electric usage.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding as Town crews continue working to keep the community safe. Additional updates will be shared as needed.
