Trent Warner 00:02:17 I've been nervous all day. You think he was listening? I hope.
Bryan Schley 00:02:20 Not. So shout out to Emma. In all the work that she has done this year, she'll be back.
Bryan Schley 00:02:26 She's just, enjoying her New Year's celebration.

That do, color commentating? Yep. anyway, so we'll get to that stuff. And a little college football playoffs previews, things like that.
Trent Warner 00:03:04 still have have at it.
Bryan Schley 00:03:06 Oh yeah. And have at it. Carolina Kevin will not be joining us today. He's a little under the weather. He was fine at the beach. He thinks that somebody at the beach gave it to him. But I've checked with everybody in their family and we all seem to be fine. So.
Trent Warner 00:03:20 Yeah. Well on the beach you get so many people from so many different places coming together and restaurants.
Bryan Schley 00:03:25 Yeah. You just never know. So anyway, we'll get to that.
Bryan Schley 00:03:29 Backwards and forwards.
Trent Warner 00:03:33 All right. Just like him. I was here.
Bryan Schley 00:03:36 Quick on the draw. congratulations. This is, as I said earlier at 250th, episode.
Trent Warner 00:03:45 That's wild.
Bryan Schley 00:03:46 That's crazy. But when I was, I always number my episodes when I put the show together, and this was 215. I was like, how ironic that we are going into a new year celebrating 250 years in existence in America. Yeah. And this that is their episode here. So,
Trent Warner 00:04:06 All the people that make comments stick it.
Bryan Schley 00:04:09 That's right. We love y'all. Don't know. Our pre-production meetings consist of, us reading TikTok or the comments on TikTok.
Trent Warner 00:04:20 Which is the best platform?
Bryan Schley 00:04:22 Oh, absolutely.
Trent Warner 00:04:23 Yeah. YouTube. Okay. But if you really want to get dirty, nasty, just downright scoundrels, go to TikTok. Read what they got to say.
Bryan Schley 00:04:35 Absolutely.
Trent Warner 00:04:35 They're important to us.
Bryan Schley 00:04:37 Yeah. I mean, they love our Mountain Dew.
Trent Warner 00:04:39 They love a mountain doing this. And this is.
Bryan Schley 00:04:43 Empty calories saving up for all the calories.
Trent Warner 00:04:48 We need. Tariffs on podcasts.
Bryan Schley 00:04:50 We do. We love, we love our audience. And speaking of that, shout out to, I can't remember the last name, but my nephew's girlfriend, she's a uncW student.
Trent Warner 00:05:03 Okay.
Bryan Schley 00:05:05 apparently she listens to the show and her father. So, hopefully they were telling me the truth. Shout out to them.
Trent Warner 00:05:11 Where does the dad live?
Bryan Schley 00:05:13 In Raleigh.
Trent Warner 00:05:14 Man. That's cool. We're everywhere.
Bryan Schley 00:05:16 Yeah. So, Anyway. Shout out to them. Hope you've had a great year.
Trent Warner 00:05:22 Shout out to Dave Baxter for getting us so many YouTube signs up. Sign her up this week.
Bryan Schley 00:05:27 Yeah, we are up to 89. Yeah. So we're literally 11 away from being able to go live on YouTube.
Trent Warner 00:05:33 Which do we know how to do that yet? Woody. Emma. Yeah, we got sounded confident, but it sounded a little shaky to me. Yeah, we got it.
Bryan Schley 00:05:39 He's annoying. Yeah, we got it, we got it.
Bryan Schley 00:05:42 So good. And always thank you to our sponsors, the counts Realty an auction and a state farm as well. If you're interested in being a sponsor of the show, you can contact Woody at Media Squatch. I get his Google Moody squatch. And there it is. Reach out to him. Trent Warner 00:06:05 How many podcasts do you have now supporting this media? 20 1520 Cattle.
Bryan Schley 00:06:10 Market.
Speaker 6 00:06:10 We produce them out of state to their. You're kidding. Up and down the East Coast. Now here we go. One in Florida, one New York.
Bryan Schley 00:06:17 Wow.
Speaker 6 00:06:17 Yeah. Growing good stuff.
Bryan Schley 00:06:19 And think about where it all started.
Speaker 6 00:06:21 Woody started. I said.
Bryan Schley 00:06:22 We had a little spool, a little spool here in the middle of the couple uncomfortable stools.
Speaker 6 00:06:27 To.
Bryan Schley 00:06:28 Sit on. Oh, my God. I thought the first week I was going to break my back.
Trent Warner 00:06:31 That was pretty me. I don't know how we could talk being that close together. Well, even at the hunting camp, we sit on the opposite ends of the table.
Bryan Schley 00:06:41 That's true.
Trent Warner 00:06:42 Yeah. Brad sits in the middle.
Bryan Schley 00:06:44 Oh.
Trent Warner 00:06:46 Are you doing work?
Bryan Schley 00:06:47 Yeah.
Speaker 6 00:06:50 See? Nothing's changed. I see that.
Bryan Schley 00:06:52 Anyway.
Trent Warner 00:06:53 Yeah.
Speaker 6 00:06:53 Working.
Bryan Schley 00:06:54 Well, I mean, that's the way it is. Oh. Oh.
Trent Warner 00:06:56 And we're still working on. Should we do broadcast to the JF games where that's still out?
Bryan Schley 00:07:01 Oh, yeah. God, I thought about it the other day. Would he? Like somebody put something. Was it? You put a picture of us broadcasting.
Trent Warner 00:07:10 Woody. media. Squatch.
Bryan Schley 00:07:12 Oh, man. I saw it, and I was like, oh, man, the good old days.
Trent Warner 00:07:16 That was fun.
Bryan Schley 00:07:16 It was.
Trent Warner 00:07:17 Fun.
Speaker 6 00:07:17 Makes you miss it when you see it.
Trent Warner 00:07:19 You know what it did do? It kept me from refereeing.
Speaker 1 00:07:23 Looking for that oh so perfect after dinner treat. Pick up some Baileys minis, the Baileys you love now, and a grab and go bottle. Seriously? Delicious. So you're loving the moment. I'll just pop a straw and grab yours at a store near you.
Speaker 1 00:07:36 Baileys minis. Ready when you are. Get the facts. Be drink aware if as a drinker whereby.
Speaker 2 00:07:42 You saw it, it was just a moment. But you saw how her smile fell. Her words slipped. Slurred but straightened again. She said she was fine. So you waited. But a stroke doesn't wait. You don't need all the signs. One is enough. Remember fast face, arms, speech time. The second you suspect a stroke is the second you dial 999 or 1 one two. Search us stroke for more from the HSC.
Trent Warner 00:08:13 And I had a referee text me last night. Hey, are you not doing the games? Kind of like. Are you refereeing? Oh, yeah, but I'm not breaking out my massager to do that anymore. Dude, I couldn't do it. It was. I'm 55. These kids are still 18. Yeah, I had that little gun. You know, the massage gun. That's the only way I could make it through halftime to get to the second half.
Bryan Schley 00:08:31 You think? Well, I mean, listen, if you did it, if you got back in it.
Trent Warner 00:08:36 Yeah, yeah.
Bryan Schley 00:08:36 She would be fine.
Trent Warner 00:08:37 But.
Bryan Schley 00:08:37 I don't know. Just pull yourself off the shelf.
Trent Warner 00:08:40 Yeah.
Bryan Schley 00:08:41 Yeah. Anyway, we did the beach. We were at the Outer Banks this week. Family Christmas had a great time. I think everybody loved it. Probably the most relaxing.
Trent Warner 00:08:52 that house was incredible. Dude, you sent me pictures.
Bryan Schley 00:08:54 They totally screwed up. I figured something was wrong. by day two. I mean, I literally were finding new rooms. That's not a joke, I mean, it was a it was so huge, and it was so different that we were literally finding new places. It seemed like every day.
Trent Warner 00:09:15 Like it was a maze.
Bryan Schley 00:09:17 Absolutely.
Trent Warner 00:09:17 Yeah. But y'all were used to the escape rooms. Yes.
Bryan Schley 00:09:21 So, literally, I was, going through this, like, one area and I end up in a bathroom, and you're not.
Bryan Schley 00:09:33 Oh, I don't want to tell that story. Oh.
Speaker 6 00:09:36 Anymore.
Trent Warner 00:09:37 Oh, damn. Sam. Hell are you talking about?
Bryan Schley 00:09:39 No, no, I mean, it's one of those things, you know, they don't come equipped with toilet paper.
Trent Warner 00:09:44 Okay.
Bryan Schley 00:09:44 And so my wife had gone around to all the bathrooms and put toilet paper in them. She hadn't even found this bathroom. That's how many. It was like it was. It was legitimately just a huge place. So they sent you a text that you can you have up to a week after you leave to book it again for next year. It's reserved. So I was going to and I talked to you and I was like but the price doubled. And you're like well call them you know to see if it's like like an algorithm that you know. So I called and the lady was like hold on. She's clickety clacking and she says, it looks here like you got a discount. She goes, actually, it looks like you got two discounts for some reason.
Bryan Schley 00:10:26 I was like, well, I know I just booked online. Yeah. And she was like, well, no, I mean, that's great. I'm glad you guys are having a great time. I was like, okay. She's like, well, do you want to book it for next year? I was like, well, not at that price. Right. It was like 8000 now. Oh my God. And so I was like, no, you know. I said, now if you can get it for three. You know. Yes. Yeah. And so she says, well, what about the following week? I said, if you get it for three each week, yes, I will book two weeks in a row. Oh, wow. So she said she was going to see if she could swing that.
Trent Warner 00:10:56 So we got a life Liberty happen this week.
Bryan Schley 00:10:58 Oh my gosh man.
Trent Warner 00:10:59 Media squash.
Bryan Schley 00:11:00 There you.
Trent Warner 00:11:00 Go. Monday Tuesday was.
Bryan Schley 00:11:02 Booking the house. Had everything you could think of.
Bryan Schley 00:11:05 It was a full kitchen on every floor. I mean it was massive. So we had a great time. We did our escape room.
Trent Warner 00:11:11 Anybody go to the beach. Oh yeah. People on the beach.
Bryan Schley 00:11:15 People walked on the beach I don't yeah I'm not a beach person anyway so I definitely wasn't going out there. we had good weather I mean 50s, mid 50s. You know, nothing nothing bad. So anyway that was our week.
Trent Warner 00:11:29 Now the escape room go.
Bryan Schley 00:11:30 So we did a competition between my family and my sisters.
Trent Warner 00:11:36 let me think about that in a minute. You got Tammy, but you got her husband holding her back. On your side, you got Ashley, but you holding her back. It's probably even.
Bryan Schley 00:11:49 Well, honestly, I thought they had the upper hand being Jeff, Tammy's husband, and then the, you know, Nick's girlfriend, who's really bright college student at UNC.
Trent Warner 00:12:03 And y'all got.
Bryan Schley 00:12:04 A little choice there, but.
Trent Warner 00:12:05 And y'all got Logan.
Bryan Schley 00:12:06 Yeah. And that's pretty much who's got it.
Bryan Schley 00:12:08 Well, Ragan and Logan carried the show. There's no doubt. Yeah. but we finished in 50 minutes and they did not finish. So we won.
Trent Warner 00:12:19 They're still in there.
Bryan Schley 00:12:24 so what did you do.
Trent Warner 00:12:27 let's see. It was a long Christmas. Had the best Christmas I think I've ever had with my kids. Being home, it was really, really good. So just just good camaraderie and all that. And then we after everybody went because, you know, I'm doing that divorce dad thing. All my kids go to their mom's for actual Christmas. And we went to Roseville outside of Raleigh. And I spent four days down there. And I love her parents. They're just so salt of the earth, just good people. You do anything for them. They're just great people. So I just had a good time, kind of. I'll say it was relaxing, but just busy doing chores with them that they needed and, you know.
Bryan Schley 00:13:07 Is their feelings mutual?
Trent Warner 00:13:10 I hope so, yeah, I did, I don't know if I should say this.
Bryan Schley 00:13:16 oh. Watch it. No, wait, let's not start off the year.
Trent Warner 00:13:20 Well, listen, you're right with the bank. No, I got to go out. So, you know, Marty, her husband had passed. And so I have kind of helped raise the boys, if you want to say that. Sure. So they've been in Lynchburg for. I've been dating her, what, seven years? That can't be right. That's way off. I'm literally burying myself here way deep with that boy. But their grandfather invited me to dinner, and he could not have been nicer and more gracious to me. And I was like, that was really rewarding. That's awesome. Yeah. Had a great time. I was nervous. You know, before that, I hadn't talked to the guy really at all. And, And, yeah, he couldn't have been just a nicer, more, you know, complimentary guy. So. Yeah, it was a great time.
Bryan Schley 00:14:06 What what are you and your wife? Did you go to multiple different places?
Speaker 6 00:14:09 Oh, here, we did a few.
Speaker 6 00:14:11 It's not as much as we used to, but we saw my grandmother and her. She's Liberty Ridge. That was fun.
Bryan Schley 00:14:16 Oh, nice.
Speaker 6 00:14:17 Yeah, but, yeah, it was kind of low key. It was nice.
Bryan Schley 00:14:20 Yeah. Yeah. I don't I don't know that we really did. And that was one thing. My brother was like, y'all don't do nothing but sit around and do nothing. I like it. Yeah, that's pretty much it.
Trent Warner 00:14:29 I'm all for that.
Bryan Schley 00:14:31 That's right.
Trent Warner 00:14:33 Yeah.
Bryan Schley 00:14:33 Like we man, it had a theater room. That was real. You know, a lot of times the beach houses put a little room together and call it a theater room. Yeah. No, this joker was for, you know, step ups of of each seat was, recliner electric. You know, I mean, it was state of the art. Was really nice.
Trent Warner 00:14:54 Yeah. So, Don, he's the farmer, and he was totally just trying to be nice for me, because when I'm there, I don't try to take over a TV.
Trent Warner 00:15:04 I'm in somebody else's house. We watch. What? That's right. So I probably texted you and Brad six times this weekend. Are y'all watching Gunsmoke, too? You know what I mean? Or Perry Mason? Well, I didn't mind. I mean, I don't I haven't seen those shows in forever, but that's their channel that's watching. But he was trying to be nice to me. And so when I got there, he's watching a football game a college football game. And he does. He's the kind of guy that will ask you questions. That's obvious. Marty knows more about football than he does. He doesn't know, and he's watching the game. And you know, after about 45 minutes, I said, Don, you do know this game is like three months old, right? Oh, Lord. He goes, are you serious? I was like, yeah. Neither coach is actually with their team anymore. It was Ole Miss and LSU. Oh, wow. He had no showing that.
Bryan Schley 00:15:53 That's great. Yeah. this weekend got a hunting weekend up at Highland last week. Weekend of the season? Yeah. So I was kind of thrown in a loop because I texted you I wasn't going.
Trent Warner 00:16:05 Yeah, you kind of threw me off.
Bryan Schley 00:16:07 Because Ashley informed me that Reagan has a volleyball tournament this weekend at.
Trent Warner 00:16:11 Oh, this is the first one that kicks it off the season, right?
Bryan Schley 00:16:14 It's the second week. Well, they've added a new one.
Trent Warner 00:16:18 Okay.
Bryan Schley 00:16:18 And I'm like, well it's going to be the same thing. Two weekends row at Lew said probably be the same teams. Yeah. So my daughter asked me Sunday if she could go over to a friend's house to spend the night, and I'm like, that depends. She's like, on what? I was like, whether I can go hunting this weekend. And she's like, I don't care if you're at a tournament. I don't pay no attention to me.
Trent Warner 00:16:42 I'm like, oh man.
Bryan Schley 00:16:43 Sounds great.
Trent Warner 00:16:44 Well, good for her.
Trent Warner 00:16:45 Let you go?
Bryan Schley 00:16:46 Yeah.
Trent Warner 00:16:47 So she's pretty sure I can go. I mean, I'm committed to you guys, and I'm going, but, you know, like, when you think in the back of your mind. Did I say we were going to do something? oh. I don't have it on my calendar, so I think I'm open.
Bryan Schley 00:16:59 Well, you need to come early because we're. We're leaving. 430 in the morning.
Trent Warner 00:17:03 Oh, no. You guys are definitely dedicated.
Bryan Schley 00:17:06 Well, we've got to get to that Shafer place, and it's frozen tundra. So, yeah, I did talk to your uncle today, okay? He hasn't seen anything.
Trent Warner 00:17:17 Yeah, my game camera showing nothing.
Bryan Schley 00:17:19 So I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing.
Trent Warner 00:17:23 Well, I mean, I like being just up there. Me too.
Bryan Schley 00:17:26 So I'm looking forward to it. Cool. All right. Moving on. what? What do you got? Anything. Any big plans this weekend? No, sir.
Bryan Schley 00:17:35 All right. Moving on. This day in history. That's it today. There it is. History? Yeah. There's a first mistake.
Speaker 6 00:17:45 There we go.
Bryan Schley 00:17:46 That's our mistake.
Speaker 6 00:17:47 That's it. Emma's writing that.
Bryan Schley 00:17:48 Down. Yeah. On this day in history. How about this? In 1922? It's when the USSR was founded.
Trent Warner 00:17:56 So I saw that on the agenda, and I thought, there's no way it was that late. I thought I thought it was like 1800s or something.
Bryan Schley 00:18:02 So I put down what the USSR was made out of. Just so people who are the ones that would fly the stupid. I shouldn't say stupid.
Trent Warner 00:18:10 Remember what stupid listeners know?
Bryan Schley 00:18:12 The Ukraine flag. Remember all that crap? Yeah. The war. Putin's war. Right. So anyway, the USSR was made up of Russia, Ukraine, I guess you say Belarus.
Trent Warner 00:18:27 Okay.
Bryan Schley 00:18:28 And the SSR, which I thought was funny. The SSR was Soviet something. Something. Republic or something. So, anyway, it was made up of those countries.
Bryan Schley 00:18:39 So at one time Ukraine was part of Russia.
Trent Warner 00:18:41 Well, yeah.
Bryan Schley 00:18:42 So they were just shocking that people don't know that.
Trent Warner 00:18:48 Yeah. It's it's, them saying that Putin is trying to get the bloc back together. The Soviet bloc. Yep. in mind. 1832 John Calhoun became the first vice president to resign. He cited differences from Andrew Jackson. So I thought so. I delved into it a little bit deeper. Do you know what the major primary argument was?
Bryan Schley 00:19:15 oh.
Trent Warner 00:19:16 Tariffs. He was he actually got into such an argument with Andrew Jackson, he took the vacant Senate seat in South Carolina to try to block every vote from the Senate to keep the terrorists from happening. Wow. Yeah. So we think we think the political game now is the worst ever. No, it's always been this way. The system was set up to be this way.
Bryan Schley 00:19:39 Yes, exactly. That's what I've said all along. It absolutely has been back and forth. It has ebbs and flows. Yeah. And typically when we get along is usually when the worst.
Bryan Schley 00:19:52 You know what I mean. Oh yeah.
Trent Warner 00:19:55 The Like if you ever watched the movie Abraham Lincoln fantastic movie. But man just him going through trying to get things passed in Congress because you got a civil war going on at the same time, all that stuff. Oh it is. It makes you realize this has always gone on.
Bryan Schley 00:20:12 Yeah. For sure. All right, moving on to drama.
Speaker 2 00:20:18 Very You saw it. It was just a moment. But you saw how her smile fell. Her words slipped, slurred, but straightened again. She said she was fine. So you waited. But a stroke doesn't wait. You don't need all the signs. One is enough. Remember fast face, arms, speech time. The second you suspect a stroke is the second you dial 999 or 102. Speaker 3 00:21:53 All right.
Speaker 8 00:21:54 A little bit of binge watching.
Bryan Schley 00:21:59 At the beach. So I went down to the theater room sometime and then played this black list that has been, I bet I had 4 or 5 different people recommend that show. And so I thought, I'll try it. Now, it was a show on NBC for ten years, so I started watching it.
Bryan Schley 00:22:21 It's very interesting. I'm not a big fan of that state. What about James Spader? Yep. Just because his character is the exact same in every single one he's ever done. I mean, even in office. Yeah. I mean. Same guy.
Speaker 6 00:22:36 Robert. California.
Bryan Schley 00:22:38 Yeah.
Speaker 6 00:22:39 Same guy. The lizard king.
Bryan Schley 00:22:42 but what intrigues me is another show that was done starting in 2013. And the stuff that happens after that show is what's happening now.
Trent Warner 00:22:57 It sounds like a precursor to what actually happens.
Bryan Schley 00:22:59 It's crazy to me. Like, these are all government. It's it's a a, sort of a unnamed unit of the FBI that's stopping all these world issues. right? And you've got this criminal who is working with the FBI, helping take out these masterminds trying to ruin the world type thing, but everything, I mean, it's like, ooh, that did happen.
Trent Warner 00:23:27 That sounds familiar.
Bryan Schley 00:23:29 Yeah. So, I mean, a lot of stuff. Covid, I mean, all that stuff.
Trent Warner 00:23:36 was it House of cards?
Bryan Schley 00:23:37 Yeah, yeah.
Bryan Schley 00:23:38 Very similar. Same thing.
Trent Warner 00:23:39 Kind of mimics exactly what went on.
Bryan Schley 00:23:42 one of them was. And listen, the only reason it freaked me out is because Sean Ryan, I've watched his show where a gentleman talks about, literally, that the government can take control of your car and kill you. And I'm like, ooh. Like, it sends a chill watching the show. That's what happens.
Trent Warner 00:24:04 Wow.
Bryan Schley 00:24:05 The guy just flipped off the side of the road.
Trent Warner 00:24:09 I mean, I read a long time ago that when they were doing the autonomous cars. Yeah, that I swear it was a Ford discussion. Like a, if you're not paying your bill. That autonomous car can make it right back to the dealership. Yeah.
Bryan Schley 00:24:25 I don't know. It's it's a great show, but it's addicting to the point where you're like, oh, man, is that going to happen? Like plane crashes. Like it makes you think. You know, are they intentional? Yeah. I mean, we've had an awful lot of little plane crashes.
Trent Warner 00:24:45 Yeah.
Bryan Schley 00:24:45 Just little out of the blue. And the one I think that scares me the most was like a guy that was controlled by the government to to assassinate somebody. And you're like, man, if that doesn't sound like the guy that tried to take out Trump.
Trent Warner 00:25:04 So this is inspiring your conspiracy theory. There is.
Bryan Schley 00:25:07 It's just it's it's good because I've often wondered. All right, come on. This kid just climbs up on a roof, you know, for what reason? And there's no social media. There's nothing. Yeah. And then you watch the show and you're like, oh, like, literally back channeling instructions to this kid of certain things to do. And then it all disappears once he's gone.
Trent Warner 00:25:32 Yeah. Well, that certainly is one of those on the list of we need more investigation done.
Bryan Schley 00:25:39 Yeah. So anyway, we'll,
Trent Warner 00:25:42 Have you.
Speaker 6 00:25:42 Seen.
Trent Warner 00:25:42 Yeah. I think you're the one that said it, and someone else told me about it. Mayor of Kingstown. Have you ever watched it yet?
Bryan Schley 00:25:47 Logan wants me to watch it so bad, and I have not.
Trent Warner 00:25:51 Okay, that's. I think that's the next one I might pick up.
Bryan Schley 00:25:53 But I'm going to. I'm gonna try it, but I'm gonna get through this first. Although this is Ten Seasons blacklist.
Trent Warner 00:26:01 You don't have to watch commercials, though, do you know? Okay.
Bryan Schley 00:26:04 It's on Netflix.
Trent Warner 00:26:06 Gotcha.
Bryan Schley 00:26:08 So looking forward to that. And lan, man, I know you're waiting. You're waiting till the end of the year.
Trent Warner 00:26:12 Yeah, I went for the end of the season. Season?
Bryan Schley 00:26:15 It's it's good. I have enjoyed the heck out of it.
Trent Warner 00:26:19 So but then you got to wait a week.
Bryan Schley 00:26:21 Yeah. Well my wife and I have enjoyed it watching it together. Yeah.
Trent Warner 00:26:27 So anyway for me I actually knocked these two out. No.
Bryan Schley 00:26:33 You did the John Elway.
Trent Warner 00:26:35 The John Elway documentary. Did you enjoy the Dallas Cowboy one?
Speaker 6 00:26:39 Yes.
Trent Warner 00:26:40 Okay, so the reason I enjoyed the Dallas Cowboy one, even though I hated the Cowboys, right, is there were so many clips of things that I either forgot or have memories of fond memories of, and it was really watching.
Trent Warner 00:26:51 Like, I don't think Perry would enjoy it, but someone my age enjoyed the hell out of it. It was one of those things, and I learned so much about him that I had no idea.
Bryan Schley 00:27:01 So I can't wait to watch it.
Trent Warner 00:27:02 It's really, really good.
Bryan Schley 00:27:04 I think I might watch it tomorrow.
Trent Warner 00:27:05 And his interaction with Mike Shanahan and the story behind them is, oh, it'll. It'll blow your mind. Oh, good. Really really cool. Cool. Yep. And then I watched.
Bryan Schley 00:27:17 You did watch the Dave Chappelle.
Trent Warner 00:27:18 Have y'all seen Dave Chappelle yet?
Bryan Schley 00:27:19 I have not.
Trent Warner 00:27:20 What have you seen, Dave?
Speaker 6 00:27:21 I have not know.
Trent Warner 00:27:24 I'm a huge. Like Mount Rushmore. He's number one for me.
Bryan Schley 00:27:27 Oh, wow.
Trent Warner 00:27:27 Every one of his comedy things I have to watch. Cool. He tells a story like no one else. Yeah. And the way he ties history together. But this one was hard for me as a Trump fan to stomach and watch, because he's in DC and he's certainly entertaining the crowd that are there.
Trent Warner 00:27:44 And so it's hard to stomach it. He is not a Charlie Kirk fan. He mentions stuff like that. So you have to be able to stomach through it. Sure. But what I always say is, I suppose I'm supposed to be able to laugh at myself, son. You know what I mean? And he'll rip you. But if you keep watching long enough, he will circle back around to rip the other side, too. Which is? He's so good at.
Bryan Schley 00:28:03 Yes, he's very good at that.
Trent Warner 00:28:04 Definitely worth watching.
Bryan Schley 00:28:06 He is a equal opportunity offender. Yeah for sure.
Trent Warner 00:28:09 Yeah.
Bryan Schley 00:28:10 All right.
Trent Warner 00:28:10 So very it was. I highly recommend it.
Bryan Schley 00:28:13 So, I didn't do legacy media this week because I just kind of wanted to do like a year in review. Yeah. This is a end of year, podcast.
Trent Warner 00:28:24 I like those things.
Bryan Schley 00:28:25 So I thought we would just kind of take a look at what we've done this year. And these are the things that I, just remember from us doing this year.
Bryan Schley 00:28:36 Okay. First and foremost was adding our segment called American Hero Stories. Yeah, that was a huge success for me personally. you know, starting with your dad, which was an honor to do. And then.
Trent Warner 00:28:51 Hope we can find it again.
Bryan Schley 00:28:54 If, If not, we'll have him back.
Trent Warner 00:28:58 We'll give him a better chance. Another chance? Can you reach out some.
Speaker 6 00:29:01 Of those stories?
Bryan Schley 00:29:04 I mean, it's one of those things where in retrospect, looking back on it, like after we did the interview, I'm like, wow, we got to interview that guy. I know, like David Harker. I mean, just an amazing, amazing individual. All of.
Trent Warner 00:29:20 Them. I've been at client meetings where the client has told other people at the table the stuff they heard on the air in their interview.
Bryan Schley 00:29:27 Yeah. I mean, just incredible. and then I enjoyed all of them. Like, I've gone back and listen to some of them and I'm like, man, just what a unique position that we're fortunate to be in, to be able to do it.
Bryan Schley 00:29:41 Yeah. so I'm looking forward to that. Again, that starts up the after, Memorial Day. Yeah. Right. And we'll run them through, Labor.
Trent Warner 00:29:51 Day, kind of a summer series.
Bryan Schley 00:29:53 So. Yeah. So if anybody would like to sponsor that series. Yeah, let us know. And by the way, if you want to, you can go to at LH Underscore podcast on YouTube. Go there and subscribe. Make sure you hit the little subscribe button. It's important because that's where all those interviews are. You can. Well, not all of them, but all but.
Trent Warner 00:30:22 One. All but the first one.
Bryan Schley 00:30:24 So, seriously, go go do that. And then also, if you have TikTok, check us out there. again, you can just underscore, or at L.L. underscore podcast and same thing on Instagram and X we're on all of them. I think we're on X right.
Speaker 6 00:30:42 I think so.
Trent Warner 00:30:43 I don't think I've seen this on X.
Speaker 6 00:30:45 Okay.
Trent Warner 00:30:46 Yeah. Spotify.
Bryan Schley 00:30:48 Spotify.
Speaker 6 00:30:49 We're on.
Trent Warner 00:30:50 On. You can listen to it. Yep.
Bryan Schley 00:30:51 Yep. So, I'm looking forward to going live on YouTube. That's that's my biggest thing.
Speaker 6 00:30:57 That'd be cool.
Bryan Schley 00:30:59 just so people can check it out. launching our social media platform. That kind of leads us into that. Right. I mean, before this year, we weren't doing YouTube and all of the, TikTok.
Trent Warner 00:31:11 And it's probably late in the fall before we really started in the to YouTube.
Bryan Schley 00:31:15 And, you know, I, we really pushed YouTube. but TikTok is fun for us because of the comments. I mean, the comments are the best. And I often wonder who the hell. I mean, how? Who the hell comments on this stuff? But they're usually really funny. and I don't get offended. Like, people are like, I do literally have people go. Man, that's mean. Why would people be so ugly? And I'm like, dude, it's hilarious.
Trent Warner 00:31:42 It is. It is me.
Trent Warner 00:31:43 It can be both.
Bryan Schley 00:31:44 Yes.
Trent Warner 00:31:46 Anybody can hide behind a platform. Sure. It's not like you can find them.
Speaker 6 00:31:50 Yeah.
Trent Warner 00:31:51 Well we should go to their house and just beat. That will just beat the hell out. Come on Woody, find us that IP address.
Speaker 6 00:31:58 I'm working on.
Trent Warner 00:31:58 All right. Let's go do it. Hey, here's a mountain dew.
Speaker 6 00:32:02 Oh, yeah.
Bryan Schley 00:32:04 Oh, me. the next thing was starting our Mount Rushmore segment.
Speaker 6 00:32:08 Yeah. It's been cool.
Bryan Schley 00:32:09 Fun. Yep. So we've enjoyed doing those weekly. and then our interview with, Vince Everett Ellison. Yeah. Was a fun thing to do. Really cool. I always give Caitlin a hard time. That works at Media squatch. She said that? Vince said that I was a smart guy, and I'm like, that's.
Speaker 6 00:32:29 Oh, man.
Bryan Schley 00:32:30 I will remember that.
Speaker 6 00:32:32 right.
Trent Warner 00:32:33 and by the way, another guest that's really cool has committed that he will do it again is Tyler Parnell. oh. Wow.
Trent Warner 00:32:39 Pre Daytona. Yeah. So I thought, you know, I'm going to Daytona to race.
Bryan Schley 00:32:44 No, I did not know this.
Trent Warner 00:32:45 So at the end of January I'm going to go to Daytona to do the track the race.
Bryan Schley 00:32:48 Oh that's right. You're doing the,
Trent Warner 00:32:50 The.
Bryan Schley 00:32:50 In school.
Trent Warner 00:32:51 Yeah. Yeah. So I'm going to go do that. So I thought it'd be cool. I even thought about reaching out to him because he was down in Daytona. That's right. He's just catching up with him down there.
Speaker 6 00:32:58 Sure.
Bryan Schley 00:32:58 So now, are you, are you on the actual Daytona track?
Speaker 6 00:33:03 Yeah.
Bryan Schley 00:33:03 Oh, wow.
Trent Warner 00:33:04 Yeah. So I'm gonna do it right along. First with a professional driver, and then I'm going to get in and see if I can beat his time.
Speaker 6 00:33:10 Well, you know.
Bryan Schley 00:33:12 I'm not saying you're going to do that, but that is sort of the path that Jeff Gordon took. Right. I'm in like he was Indy. Yeah. And then someone convinced him to do one of those, and he just was so fast.
Bryan Schley 00:33:25 They were like, wait, wait a minute.
Trent Warner 00:33:26 So I got a chance.
Bryan Schley 00:33:28 No.
Trent Warner 00:33:30 I'll end up like Dale Earnhardt.
Speaker 6 00:33:31 What'd you.
Trent Warner 00:33:32 Say?
Speaker 6 00:33:33 Oh, geez.
Trent Warner 00:33:39 Hey, y'all. Y'all record this.
Speaker 6 00:33:41 Big.
Bryan Schley 00:33:41 Dave.
Speaker 6 00:33:41 Marcus, go.
Bryan Schley 00:33:43 Down there and wear wingtip shoes.
Trent Warner 00:33:44 Oh, man, that's what I gotta do.
Bryan Schley 00:33:46 Yeah. Watch them all. Make fun of you. Yeah. Who was the other? was a Morgan Shepherd that would wear the roller skates and skate up and down the pit lane. Before the race.
Trent Warner 00:33:57 I'm gonna do Dick trickle and light a cigarette while the guys going around.
Bryan Schley 00:34:00 The the track. That was back when NASCAR was real. Yeah, so much fun.
Trent Warner 00:34:05 We should have a mount Rushmore of what NASCAR should do to make.
Bryan Schley 00:34:10 To get it.
Trent Warner 00:34:10 Back. NASCAR better.
Bryan Schley 00:34:11 Yeah. And what's you know. Yeah, we'll talk about that. Yeah. That's awesome. do you got any things off the top of your head this year that we did.
Trent Warner 00:34:21 Year in review? I was thinking about Emma not being here, but the year in review is, She graduated from Liberty.
Bryan Schley 00:34:27 That's right.
Trent Warner 00:34:28 She got that done. It's a congrats to her. And she started drinking.
Bryan Schley 00:34:36 Doing the show after the show.
Trent Warner 00:34:38 She actually had drinking stories.
Bryan Schley 00:34:40 Oh, yeah. Yeah, well, we.
Trent Warner 00:34:42 Had. It's just a matter of time.
Bryan Schley 00:34:43 That's right. Oh, Lord. Poor Emma. All right. Yep. that was a look back at our year. Brought to you by State Farm.

Speaker 3 00:36:58 It's time for sports.
Bryan Schley 00:37:15 All right. Sarcastically but serious at the same time. I will admit I have been giving you a hard time about UVA. Yeah, okay. This is, I mean, I would say it was the win of the century for them. Big win over Missouri. so that was their most wins in school history in one year, right? And 11.
Trent Warner 00:37:37 So I told you I was trying to watch sports down there at in Roseville. Yeah. So of course it's the fourth quarter and in walks family members of their family and they're all talking. So I'm trying to be nice, but I'm also trying to watch the game.
Bryan Schley 00:37:51 Oh.
Trent Warner 00:37:52 It was difficult. And then they left right as the last drive is about to happen and Missouri's got the ball.
Trent Warner 00:37:58 And there is not a UVA fan that can do math that knows we're not going to lose. I mean, we're not.
Bryan Schley 00:38:05 We're going to lose this. Yes.
Trent Warner 00:38:06 You everybody knows if you're up six and the other team has the ball to end the game. Yes. Well then the starting quarterback got knocked out on fourth down. Yeah. Like do you see him. He got up. How the referees saw that is beyond me. But he definitely to me should have been taken out of the game. I mean he looked like he was just rattled. Now could he have made the play man I don't know. But for everyone watching it knows. Oh my God, I'll walk on is going to come on into the game to make one throw. Dude, that was a hell of a throw, It was in the guy's hands. Yeah. The defender just made a great play for Virginia. That's right. Oh, my gosh, that was exciting.
Bryan Schley 00:38:40 Yeah, it was great. Tennessee plays tonight.
Bryan Schley 00:38:44 Illinois? Cool. but something you've mentioned before. Yeah. And we'll talk about it right now. I think it's definitely time to move on from bowls.
Trent Warner 00:38:55 Yes.
Bryan Schley 00:38:56 Tennessee's a prime example tonight. There are five starters that are opted out. Yeah. Now I love Charles Barkley when he says opting out is the dumbest thing in any sport because he said literally we get paid to entertain. How are you entertaining anybody when you're opting out? Oh, well, it's not good for my future. What future do any of us have if you're not entertaining people? Yeah, so I hate it too. And what? To me, on top of it, it's. Now you're getting paid. Yeah. And you're opting out. Like, at what point in time do you learn? You're getting paid. I mean, I.
Trent Warner 00:39:38 Think the easy answer and hopefully they'll do it to stop opening the transfer portal before the bowl, before all the bowl games are done. Yeah, all the playoffs are done because really, then you have some incentive to play well to be on film again.
Bryan Schley 00:39:54 I agree, I said, I thought because, you know, they're going to move it to 16, right. The field. So just make the field 32. Get rid of the bowl games but not don't get rid of them. But all these bowl games that were watching. You know, why not put your field from 16 to 32 in those bowl games and let them compete to be in the 16 team playoff. Yeah right.
Trent Warner 00:40:23 I think if you went to that it's definitely going to have to be homestand games. For example Clemson and Penn State is a good matchup. Right. And no matter what that's always a good matchup to watch. That was a half full stance I mean it's half full.
Bryan Schley 00:40:35 Yeah.
Trent Warner 00:40:36 Now I do enjoy it.
Bryan Schley 00:40:37 Now it was 18 degrees.
Trent Warner 00:40:40 Yeah, well, I mean, that's what you're doing. Stuff at the end of December. It doesn't matter. It's not going to be great. I want my last bowl game I went to was the Gator Bowl. The last time Virginia was there, we lost to Texas Tech.
Trent Warner 00:40:51 It was single digits in Florida. I was like, this is miserable. I'm not going to do this again.
Bryan Schley 00:40:57 Yeah.
Trent Warner 00:40:58 So I don't know I don't know what the answer is. But I think the bowl games have run its course and it's going to continue to go down. The only thing I think is good about a bowl game is if you were a temple and UConn something like that. Yeah you keep practicing and you have a reason to play down south for a decent game.
Bryan Schley 00:41:18 In my mind, I'm thinking this right. Everybody says, well, Notre Dame should have been in JMU, shouldn't have been in Tulane, shouldn't have been in. And you know, who was the other team?
Trent Warner 00:41:30 Vanderbilt.
Bryan Schley 00:41:31 Vanderbilt. Right.
Trent Warner 00:41:32 Right. Or Texas.
Bryan Schley 00:41:33 All right. So so you take teams like Clemson, JMU. Those teams and you match them up. At least they're having to play for something like you're not opting out of that game. If you got a chance to go play, you know.
Trent Warner 00:41:49 You know the NCAA does the play in game anyway right. You could do something like that.
Bryan Schley 00:41:53 You know the you know the Cheez-It Bowl the winner plays in. You know whoever in the
Trent Warner 00:41:59 It's got to keep evolving because they have to keep interest. You know what I mean?
Bryan Schley 00:42:03 Yeah. Because like you said, all the the stadiums were empty. I mean, and and I get it. You're right. I, I used to love as a kid the Cotton Bowl's the, Which one was the. There was, there was a bowl every year that I always looked forward to. It didn't matter what teams were in it.
Speaker 2 00:42:21 You saw it. It was just a moment. What you saw, how her smile fell. Her words slipped, slurred, but straightened again. She said she was fine. So you waited. But a stroke doesn't wait. You don't need all the signs. One is enough. Remember? Fast face, arms, speech time. The second you suspect a stroke is the second you dial 999 or 1 one two.
Speaker 2 00:42:48 Search stroke for more from the HSC.

Bryan Schley 00:43:22 And I'm trying to think of the name of it.
Trent Warner 00:43:24 But probably the Liberty Bowl or the Sun Belt. There was, there was there was one in San Diego that was always a good bowl game. The Peach Bowl was.
Bryan Schley 00:43:31 All it was. It was, Oh, God. I can't think of the name of it. last year, I think it was Valero was the sponsor, but it was, No matter who was in it, it always seemed to be 48.
Bryan Schley 00:43:44 55 was the final. It was always a high scoring game. And I was like, I'm going to watch Air Force versus such and such because they would sling it, man. Yeah, and it was fun to watch. Now it's just I don't know, it's like watching paint dry. Like you and I both know middle of the season, we are both tuning into Tennessee. Illinois. Who's tuning in tonight.
Trent Warner 00:44:10 Nobody other than diehards.
Bryan Schley 00:44:12 Right. But I mean at the end of the.
Trent Warner 00:44:15 Day gamblers.
Bryan Schley 00:44:16 You got five sitting out for Illinois and you got five sitting out you know. I mean like how awful would it have been to watch UVA without Chad, which had Morris was at the quarterback, what was his name?
Trent Warner 00:44:30 Chandler.
Bryan Schley 00:44:30 Chandler. Yeah. If he wasn't playing. Yeah I mean.
Trent Warner 00:44:35 You know and that's that's exactly what's happening.
Bryan Schley 00:44:38 I don't know. So something's got to be done. I'm like you. It just we gotta do something. Yeah. speaking of college football playoffs tomorrow, Miami and Ohio State.
Trent Warner 00:44:50 That's a good game.
Bryan Schley 00:44:51 I like yeah. I mean, because that is. I'm starving for sports.
Trent Warner 00:44:55 Yeah.
Bryan Schley 00:44:55 Like, I've been watching this stupid, blacklist because I can't find any decent sports on. Yeah. What? I'm just saying I'm looking forward to at least watching that game tomorrow. And then you've got, Oregon, Texas Tech, Indiana, Alabama and, Ole Miss and Georgia there.
Trent Warner 00:45:14 You got in each.
Bryan Schley 00:45:17 I got Miami beating Ohio State because I just don't think Ohio State is that good. Like, I really don't of all things. College can fool you. Because you and I look at the SEC and we think, man, what a dominant conference. Yeah. And no doubt it is. I look at the Big Ten and I think, is it that tough because somebody gave me gave me a TikTok, gave a stat that who is the quarterback for Indiana? The Mendoza right, has been winner. I think he has 32 touchdowns that he's thrown this year. Right. he's thrown five touchdowns, in the four games that were against top 25 teams out of the 32, only five and seven turnovers.
Bryan Schley 00:46:14 Well, where was that stat? Yeah, well, that doesn't sound. I mean, when you say it like that, it makes it sound like, you know, now I'm just saying Indiana struggled with Penn State. I think they're a really good football team, but I just don't know. I mean, who's Ohio State played this year?
Trent Warner 00:46:33 I honestly, each of those games I could have circled either team. I have no idea which way to go. And you know, Ohio State I think is better than Miami if they're playing at Ohio State and it's cold. No way Miami is going to win that. Where do they play or do they play at a neutral site?
Bryan Schley 00:46:49 It's a neutral freaking site.
Trent Warner 00:46:51 Okay, well that's a good shot. And then Texas Tech I kind of root for Texas Tech because isn't that a high school coach that's coaching them, dude.
Bryan Schley 00:46:57 He's done a phenomenal job there and nobody even knows his name. Yeah, which is a shame.
Trent Warner 00:47:02 Isn't he a high school guy? What are your high school guys?
Bryan Schley 00:47:05 That is a good question.
Trent Warner 00:47:07 because Baylor did that once to remember, and they were good.
Bryan Schley 00:47:09 I heard it was. Yeah, that's what Briles came from. And his offense is still talked about today. but I had heard that it was a donor that basically brought that guy in, and they've been building this in Texas Tech, which is phenomenal.
Trent Warner 00:47:29 Yeah. And it's not unheard of to think Alabama couldn't beat Indiana.
Bryan Schley 00:47:34 Correct. Although I really do think Indiana beats Alabama.
Trent Warner 00:47:38 Probably. But I'll go Bama and then Ole Miss and Georgia. I mean, Ole Miss just seems to be that team that's going to play out of spite. Right.
Bryan Schley 00:47:48 I got Georgia by 40. Oh really? I just Pam Kirby smart is so good. Yeah I mean, and I think you're going to see whether people like it or not. There's going to be a drop off without Lane Kiffin. Yeah. and we'll see.
Trent Warner 00:48:04 What's over under the lane trolls. Ole Miss during the game.
Bryan Schley 00:48:09 There's 100% chance. And how genius is his his his what do you call the agent? He's getting paid.
Bryan Schley 00:48:20 Did you know this?
Trent Warner 00:48:22 Who's getting paid.
Bryan Schley 00:48:23 Kiffin. Oh so when they win a bowl he gets he got 250,000 for the last win they got.
Trent Warner 00:48:29 So he's rooting for Ole Miss.
Bryan Schley 00:48:30 Yes big time. And not only that get this. His new contract matches it. So he got 250. Good grief homies rooting like hell for Ole Miss man.
Trent Warner 00:48:43 Media squatch. Got any kind of contracts like that?
Bryan Schley 00:48:46 Yeah, yeah. Oh, man. So, anyway, I'm looking forward to those. Those will be, Thursday. Okay. Right. Are there any games Friday?
Trent Warner 00:49:00 Regular bowl games. There are.
Bryan Schley 00:49:01 Oh, there was somebody I said, good. We get to watch that. And I can't remember now who it was. See, this is where Emma would already have it. But we didn't ask Star Trek questions, so there's no chance we get this to that right now. I mean, she literally would be clickety clacking up on the screen. Woody, I don't think you realize how talented your producer she is.
Bryan Schley 00:49:26 She is? She's really good. Sorely missed. This week.
Trent Warner 00:49:30 Friday we have. I'll fill in for Friday. We have Rice and Texas State.
Bryan Schley 00:49:34 Oh, that's the one I want to watch.
Trent Warner 00:49:36 Oh, because of your.
Bryan Schley 00:49:37 Yeah. I mean, dude, he's in a bowl. How cool is that?
Trent Warner 00:49:40 Five and seven. Oh, I had Navy in Cincinnati, Arizona and SMU and Wake Forest at Mississippi State. Okay, so only one of those eight teams is ranked.
Bryan Schley 00:49:51 Yeah, I do want to watch rice. I mean.
Trent Warner 00:49:53 I mean, you have a personal interest in it.
Bryan Schley 00:49:55 Yeah. I mean, the guy coached here at Liberty High School. Yeah. Right. I mean, it's pretty neat.
Trent Warner 00:49:59 It's the Armed Forces bowl without an armed forces team. It's kind of crazy.
Bryan Schley 00:50:05 It's kind of stupid.
Trent Warner 00:50:06 But the Liberty Bowl, which is the Liberty Bowl in the Holiday Bowl, which were the two that always have great matchups. Arizona and SMU is in the Holiday Bowl. That's probably going to be a barn burner.
Bryan Schley 00:50:16 How did Michigan screw up so bad and end up with a perfect coach? Yeah, that guy is I. I could not understand why he just resigned or retired from Utah. And then a week later, he's named the. Oh, really? Yeah. He was gone from Utah.
Trent Warner 00:50:36 Oh, I didn't know that.
Bryan Schley 00:50:37 Yeah. At the end of the year, he had announced he was retiring. I think he'd been there 20 seasons or something. And I was like, man, that guy is still young to be retired.
Trent Warner 00:50:46 So he didn't retire just so that he could break a contract and go.
Bryan Schley 00:50:49 I'm wondering if there was some backchannel stuff going on because oddly, you know, within a week he's in the Michigan coach. But yeah, he had already left Utah.
Trent Warner 00:50:57 I didn't know.
Bryan Schley 00:50:58 That. But, great guy too. I mean, just a phenomenal he'll build them. They needed that because yeah they've been cheating for and they can't get out of their own way.
Trent Warner 00:51:11 Well I say less than four seasons.
Bryan Schley 00:51:14 Oh, you don't say you don't think he's going to succeed?
Trent Warner 00:51:18 I have a hard time thinking it.
Bryan Schley 00:51:19 That dude has been great at Utah. Yeah. Not for a couple seasons. I mean, he's been in Rose bowls. Yeah. He's an Urban Meyer guy.
Trent Warner 00:51:32 Okay.
Bryan Schley 00:51:33 Like that's who the coach was before him.
Trent Warner 00:51:36 I thought they should have got Tony Elliott from UVA.
Bryan Schley 00:51:40 That's a straight. Listen. The more you see Virginia do well and the more you see Clemson suffer. Yeah. You go, dude. There's your problem. Yeah. But I mean, listen, we've all I've always said great head coaches have the ability to have great assistants. What makes Nick Saban different than everybody is he would lose assistants and have better ones. Dabo has lost his assistant I mean Venables and Tony Elliott. Yeah. And before Tony it was a guy and I can't remember his name but he was phenomenal. But, Yeah, I mean, he's suffering and I don't. Dabo is stuck in his ways.
Bryan Schley 00:52:25 I don't see it changing, do you?
Trent Warner 00:52:28 I knew.
Bryan Schley 00:52:29 And I applaud him for doing.
Trent Warner 00:52:30 It. I think I messaged you this this weekend. Yeah. There's no way the offensive coordinator is going to survive. Yeah. Dabo is giving him the riot act, much like Nick Saban did to, like Lane Kiffin. Do you remember that? Oh, you used to get on him. Yeah. Dabo was doing it. I was like, there's no way this guy's going to make it right. And sure enough, he got fired. So he's got to find the right coordinator.
Bryan Schley 00:52:51 But he's what I'm saying is Dabo is looking to build the program from the ground up. And just. I don't know that you can succeed. I, I applaud him for trying. Yeah. Because he. Listen, I see it more and more in basketball. I see, Calipari talking about it. Yeah. And Tom Izzo of the game is changing and we don't want to change with it. Yeah.
Trent Warner 00:53:18 So I really hope that he wins because I'm just praying that somebody that sticks their nose, their thumb.
Trent Warner 00:53:25 Yes. The transfer portal could win. Yeah.
Bryan Schley 00:53:29 So but it's going to take you can't when everybody else is putting two year talent on the field versus you trying to build it and they're leaving you.
Trent Warner 00:53:41 Well I mean and here's the thing that he has in his character is also his detriment of four years of Cade. I mean, after a while, man, you can see Cade is not the guy, correct. But he sticks with them because of his loyalty. Yeah, yeah.
Bryan Schley 00:53:59 I agree 100%. Yeah. All right. NFL. Yeah, it's pretty much down to four teams that have a possibility for playoffs. Yep. Pittsburgh and Baltimore. And how ironic they played this week. Yeah. And then Tampa and the Panthers. They both have a shot.
Trent Warner 00:54:16 Are they playing each other?
Bryan Schley 00:54:17 And they play each other. Oh, okay. Like, how lucky did the NFL get?
Trent Warner 00:54:20 Yeah.
Bryan Schley 00:54:21 That's great. so we'll see. I don't know how Pittsburgh lost to Cleveland.
Trent Warner 00:54:29 that was such an.
Trent Warner 00:54:30 It was just an ugly game. Yeah. Yeah.
Bryan Schley 00:54:34 Matchups in the NFL, more than anything, is crazy.
Trent Warner 00:54:37 Who's the number one seeds? I should know that.
Bryan Schley 00:54:41 I think Seattle. Did Seattle have the one over San Francisco?
Trent Warner 00:54:46 I think you're right.
Bryan Schley 00:54:48 And or is it Philadelphia? No, it's not Philadelphia. They lost.
Trent Warner 00:54:53 Seattle's number one. Chicago's number two. And Philly is number three.
Bryan Schley 00:54:59 Wow.
Trent Warner 00:55:00 Chicago and Carolina is way up there. But I guess Tampa Bay still has a shot. And then in the American Football Conference, the AFC Denver is number one.
Bryan Schley 00:55:12 Oh yeah.
Trent Warner 00:55:12 Yeah. New England's number two. And Pittsburgh and Baltimore still have to scrap it out.
Bryan Schley 00:55:19 That should be a blueprint of in the NFL. You have to have a great head coach.
Trent Warner 00:55:27 Denver.
Bryan Schley 00:55:28 Denver. Yeah. Oh you look what you inserted in New England. Yeah.
Trent Warner 00:55:34 Jacksonville's got a new head coach.
Bryan Schley 00:55:37 Oh yeah. How about that guy.
Trent Warner 00:55:39 And then my son was telling me don't count out Houston the Texans.
Bryan Schley 00:55:42 Yeah they've been on a roll.
Trent Warner 00:55:44 Their defense is so good.
Bryan Schley 00:55:45 Yeah. Somebody compared them to the 85 bears.
Trent Warner 00:55:48 Yeah. Let's not go crazy.
Bryan Schley 00:55:49 I know, that's what I said. Yeah, but. All right. moving on from sports.
Trent Warner 00:55:56 Oh one sports note we did not mention, but a little. Before we go forward.
Bryan Schley 00:56:04 Nice.
Trent Warner 00:56:05 Is, prayers to Denny Hamlin and his family.
Bryan Schley 00:56:08 Oh, yeah.
Trent Warner 00:56:09 And all that they're going through. I mean, that guy has been through a heck of a lot.
Bryan Schley 00:56:12 Yeah, I listen. I did his dad have an illness?
Trent Warner 00:56:16 Yes. So he was terminal. Right, right. He. He pretty much knew he wasn't going to make it to Daytona anyway.
Bryan Schley 00:56:21 And then, I mean, and we kind of lived a little bit of that during the playoffs with meaning so much to Denny. Yeah. And then,
Trent Warner 00:56:30 So I don't know if I said it, but his parents house caught on fire. Yeah. And I still, I thought I was reading that two people were taken to the hospital, and then I'm reading later that his father actually died in the fire.
Trent Warner 00:56:39 Yeah. Oh, man.
Bryan Schley 00:56:41 And then his mama is still in critical condition at the.
Trent Warner 00:56:44 At the hospital?
Bryan Schley 00:56:44 Yeah, it's the burn unit.
Trent Warner 00:56:47 The worst.
Bryan Schley 00:56:48 Miserable. Yeah.
Trent Warner 00:56:49 I feel for that guy.
Bryan Schley 00:56:51 So,
Trent Warner 00:56:53 Maybe you can drop your derangement syndrome for one week. How long is that morning last before you kick it up again?
Bryan Schley 00:57:01 I'm done.
Trent Warner 00:57:01 Okay. Good Can you root for the guy?
Bryan Schley 00:57:05 All right. Moving on. What's happening?
Speaker 3 00:57:09 It's time for news.
Speaker 8 00:57:22 All right.
Bryan Schley 00:57:24 Dude, I swear, Trent, I remember when Obama was running. And I think Hillary, too, that Republicans would run ads that the Democrats are just trying to redistribute wealth. Right? That was kind of a saying, and it was negative. I mean, you don't want your money going. And then and that was a negative dude. They talk about it now. Like that's standard. That's in the history books. Yeah. It shocked me when this lady was saying it. So I found this clip on CNN.
Bryan Schley 00:57:53 I don't know if you've seen this where she's literally giving the explanation that is not her.
Trent Warner 00:58:04 Have you ever been to an In-N-Out burger? No, I haven't either. What? Have you done it?
Bryan Schley 00:58:08 No. so, anyway, we got this.
Trent Warner 00:58:11 I like this view. I just.
Bryan Schley 00:58:13 Noticed it. It's what happens.
Trent Warner 00:58:15 I love the third. That is great. On YouTube, by the way, where you get to see the third clip.
Bryan Schley 00:58:20 Yeah. So, anyway, this is a clip from CNN where the lady is literally giving us the Democrats playbook and why this is normal. Cut one.
Speaker 10 00:58:31 In California. So here's the Democrats. The Democrats. And so the Democrats probably know much about my show. I'm incredibly critical of Democrats on my program as well. So except not tonight. Okay. Okay. Well, I don't know much about Biden. Yeah. I mean, look, you have Democrats in charge. And rather than looking at their own budget and saying perhaps we're doing things a little lopsided, perhaps we're not spending money in a frugal enough way for our state.
Speaker 10 00:58:53 They don't do that at all first. They never do that. They never look inward. And the same in Washington state, where I'm from, we just also introduced a millionaire tax that's going after millionaires instead of billionaires. And what we've seen after them going after the capital gains tax, implementing it. A lot of them left, including Jeff Bezos and a lot of high profile folks who decided to leave. You can go ahead and pretend that the folks who are billionaires are billionaires merely because they got handed something to them by the Democratic establishment or the Republicans. But at the end of the day, you're not actually doing anything to help people who are in a position right now who are, in fact, struggling. All you're doing is punishing someone for being successful. No, no, no. I'm sorry.
Speaker 11 00:59:25 The government, governments redistribute resources. That's what we do and we make these choices.
Speaker 10 00:59:29 And there's a huge portion already. Oh, really? Yeah, really. What do they do? Re taxes is called sales taxes.
Speaker 10 00:59:34 You would certainly concede that billionaires spend more in sales tax. Right.
Speaker 11 00:59:40 Why can my generation not afford to own a home. And that's in part because of property ownership. No, it's not their job. It's about. It's about.
Speaker 10 00:59:47 The government's job to buy for.
Speaker 11 00:59:48 You. No, it's not the government's job to buy people homes, but.
Speaker 10 00:59:52 People their.
Speaker 11 00:59:53 Money. Okay. Because do you agree that the government's job is to redistribute wealth, but they already do that. They must make choices.
Bryan Schley 01:00:01 But I.
Trent Warner 01:00:03 Strongly disagree. Scott Jennings is so good. I do not agree. But who.
Bryan Schley 01:00:06 Says.
Trent Warner 01:00:07 That? By the way, when Scott Jennings has the hand under his belt, you're getting ready to get killed. He's waiting for his chance. He's going to strike.
Bryan Schley 01:00:14 You want the government to buy your house? I mean, that is so, like they're literally running it now. Hey.
Trent Warner 01:00:22 Yeah, she's she's been, I guess, in the propaganda. Everything that they read for her whole career of education.
Trent Warner 01:00:30 Redistribution of wealth is what the government does. I take from them and they give it to them. That's a benefit like that.
Bryan Schley 01:00:39 That's. I've always grew up in civics class. Right. That the government's job was to provide services.
Trent Warner 01:00:48 Protect and serve.
Bryan Schley 01:00:50 Right. And so, like when town council and Woody has been a part of this with his company covering all this stuff. The big to do was the annexation of a neighborhood here in town. Right. That's right. And all they wanted to know was, what is my tax dollars going towards? And so you have to provide them. Here's a list of services. Guess where none of it was in those services. Redistribution of wealth. Right. So it doesn't belong in local government. It doesn't belong at the state level. And it sure as hell doesn't belong at the federal level.
Trent Warner 01:01:23 Yeah.
Bryan Schley 01:01:24 Because you know what does happen? Minnesota. That's what happens when you redistribute wealth.
Trent Warner 01:01:31 You're handing out money.
Bryan Schley 01:01:32 Oh it's crazy. So corruption with no consequences.
Bryan Schley 01:01:37 And so that brings us to, Minnesota's insurance. And now HUD, I don't know if you've read about HUD. Oh, they have found. Remember the, Covid. You don't have to pay rent. All that stuff, remember? And then then they were going to subsidize housing and all this other junk. Yeah, well, now they're finding billions of dollars worth of waste. Here we go. So my question to you, Trent, is the discovery of all this stuff. Is it Doge and how if it is, how genius was it to have, Elon Musk come in as the face get just killed and leave, and yet it's still behind the scenes working?
Trent Warner 01:02:23 He says that's exactly what's going on.
Bryan Schley 01:02:25 Well, I hope because the corruption that I'm seeing in Minnesota and what gets me is the Democrats.
Trent Warner 01:02:32 Yeah.
Bryan Schley 01:02:33 Like I literally heard a lady the other day go, oh, he said 2 billion. You know, that's outrageous to say it's in the billions. Yeah. Okay. You're literally conceding that it's happening, but you're just not as worried because it's not in billions.
Bryan Schley 01:02:52 Yeah, and of course, it's been billions. You have daycare centers with no kids.
Trent Warner 01:02:58 It's ridiculous.
Bryan Schley 01:02:59 Like nobody answers the question. Have you seen the journalist who's getting killed right now?
Trent Warner 01:03:05 I'm going to play him.
Bryan Schley 01:03:06 On for just doing his.
Trent Warner 01:03:07 Job. How about it? Yeah. Finally, somebody's doing a job.
Bryan Schley 01:03:11 homies walking down the hallway. Trent, why do we have 30 daycare centers in one building? Yeah. Or, you know, insurance, whatever it was.
Trent Warner 01:03:21 Yeah. So they got. So not only did they have the daycares, they also had the autism thing going. Sure. Kids. Somali kids get money to be autistic. And then they also had the traveling cars, like the Ubers, to be able to transport people with no verification that you transported anyone. You're still getting paid. Those are three different things that you are giving to a certain demographic of people.
Bryan Schley 01:03:45 And nobody will go to jail.
Trent Warner 01:03:48 No one is going to jail.
Bryan Schley 01:03:49 Nobody.
Trent Warner 01:03:50 Yeah, that's the infuriating part to me more than anything else.
Trent Warner 01:03:53 And that's what I hope 2026 is different than 2025 2025. We found a lot of stuff. We bitched about a lot of stuff, but we ain't arrested anybody.
Bryan Schley 01:04:02 Correct.
Trent Warner 01:04:02 That's got to change. Yeah, there should be raids in daycare centers now.
Bryan Schley 01:04:07 Right?
Trent Warner 01:04:07 How many raids did we have to go through when? During Biden's regime where they just went running into Mar-A-Lago? Correct. Right. Or they went ran into somebody that was associated with Trump?
Bryan Schley 01:04:18 Yes.
Trent Warner 01:04:19 How about raiding, an empty daycare center?
Bryan Schley 01:04:24 Nobody's worked harder to stop fraud in Minnesota than the governor.
Trent Warner 01:04:30 No.
Bryan Schley 01:04:30 Yeah, that's what he says. Oh, yeah. And we're going to. Hey, we care about it so much, Woody, that we're going to spend more millions on a task force. Yeah, yeah, it's going to do absolutely nothing. But still more money.
Trent Warner 01:04:41 So as a task force free, do you think?
Bryan Schley 01:04:43 No, of course not. It's more government.
Trent Warner 01:04:45 Crap. Do you think task force is just one person A task force is a group.
Trent Warner 01:04:50 So all you did was redistribute the funds that you were spending on the Somalis to spend, to not spend to the Somalis. And who's going to be on the task force, do you think.
Bryan Schley 01:05:02 I guarantee you to be Somalis?
Trent Warner 01:05:03 Exactly.
Bryan Schley 01:05:06 I think we should turn the page.
Trent Warner 01:05:08 Right.
Bryan Schley 01:05:09 On the.
Trent Warner 01:05:10 That's a good one.
Bryan Schley 01:05:11 On the Minnesota governor.
Trent Warner 01:05:12 By the way, how is there no outrage at all? This is the thing that pissed me off more than anything. So one of the comments that I read was, what is a shame was this was money that was supposed to be set aside for real Minnesotans. Okay. My daycare didn't get funds, right? The the daycare that I took my kids to. They survived because of the fees that their parents paid.
Bryan Schley 01:05:38 Correct.
Trent Warner 01:05:39 There was no one backing their kids up. You're welcome to our country. Survive like we do. Stop handing them out. They took our money.
Bryan Schley 01:05:51 Yes.
Trent Warner 01:05:52 Oh, man. It just enrages.
Bryan Schley 01:05:53 Me. Well, how about this one? I thought you would get a kick out of this one.
Bryan Schley 01:05:56 This one really should enrage you. How about in New York City? Don't forget, mom, Donny has told everybody that he's going to fix the housing crisis, right? Yeah. Have you heard about this, Woody?
Trent Warner 01:06:07 I can't wait to hear how he does it. He says.
Bryan Schley 01:06:09 Yeah. All right. Dude, so they're introducing a bill or an ordinance or whatever, that if you own a home in New York City and you sell it, you have to wait a period of six months before it can be closed.
Trent Warner 01:06:24 Wow. Well, how is that supposed to help anything?
Bryan Schley 01:06:26 Because they have a task force that will put all these houses up there, and they will determine if your house is eligible to be sold or eligible for housing for the government.
Trent Warner 01:06:41 Good grief.
Bryan Schley 01:06:42 So if you sell your house to a buyer, and they deemed that it fits within their blueprint.
Trent Warner 01:06:47 They get.
Bryan Schley 01:06:48 It. They get.
Trent Warner 01:06:49 It. So there's a first right of refusal.
Bryan Schley 01:06:51 Basically, yes.
Trent Warner 01:06:52 Yeah. Wow.
Trent Warner 01:06:53 That sounds like that's a problem.
Bryan Schley 01:06:56 But that, you know. Good. Well, they'll pass this.
Trent Warner 01:06:59 Yeah.
Bryan Schley 01:06:59 And who the hell would want to. Let me tell you right now, if.
Trent Warner 01:07:03 What they'll do is more than likely their offer will, let's just say, be 5% higher than your closing price. Right? Sure. So you're the you're the you receive a little bit more. I'm sure that's the way it's going to go. But then they have that house forever. Yeah. And they don't sell it. Correct. They just keep Ahold of it. Yeah. So it's artificially keeping the market down. Yeah. So you then go to try to sell your house in the future. There's no one to compete against. Right. Yeah. Yeah.
Bryan Schley 01:07:30 It's awful. Like, if you're in New York City right now and you own a home isn't. Your best bet is to get the hell out. Now, before this takes hold. Yeah.
Trent Warner 01:07:42 which is also what they look to do.
Bryan Schley 01:07:44 Yes.
Trent Warner 01:07:45 Mass exodus.
Bryan Schley 01:07:47 Correct. All right. I found this clip. this is the difference between a real president and a fake. You know, to me, just one that's sticking out there. So on the way down to the beach, I told you, I ran into a convenience store that had $3.09 diesel, and it was 167 for gas. 167 167 wow. Now, I think that was just a, weekend, you know, people traveling type thing.
Trent Warner 01:08:16 Who cares?
Bryan Schley 01:08:17 Yeah, that I mean, I've. 309.
Trent Warner 01:08:20 Place was packed.
Bryan Schley 01:08:21 Yeah.
Trent Warner 01:08:22 Of course. Yeah.
Bryan Schley 01:08:23 309 for diesel is ridiculous. Really good, so, of course, I stopped in and fueled up. but if you'll remember, during the Biden administration, fuel costs were at $5. Like I don't think people realize how much it's changed, but when they asked this is Joe Biden and cut to about fuel cost and this was his response.
Speaker 12 01:08:50 The average price of gas nationally today $5 a gallon for the first time.
Speaker 12 01:08:55 What's your message to the American people, especially as we head into the summer months. So they're really struggling with this. This is outrageous what the war in the Ukraine is.
Speaker 13 01:09:04 The idea that.
Bryan Schley 01:09:05 That's so the war in Ukraine, that would he. Don't forget. Trent talks about this a lot. Don't forget that he you. He begged Saudi Arabia to lower fuel costs because it was killing him in America. Right. And it's because of this war. Not only did that happen, but he started to use our reserves. Yeah. To try to keep fuel costs down. That's right. Trump has done none of that. And there's still a war in Ukraine.
Trent Warner 01:09:39 Don't forget. Shut down the pipelines.
Bryan Schley 01:09:41 And.
Trent Warner 01:09:43 Not let us sell natural gas.
Bryan Schley 01:09:45 How ironic that three days after Powell comes out and gives a quarter point interest rate and warns how the economy is still unstable. Of course. You're sitting here telling me he didn't have the data that came out three days later, that the GDP was, what.
Trent Warner 01:10:05 4.3.
Bryan Schley 01:10:05 4.33?
Trent Warner 01:10:07 Yeah.
Bryan Schley 01:10:08 Where is this horrible economy that we're having? Yeah. In that news, of course, people don't hear about this over Christmas break. Yeah. Nobody knows. Yep. I think we are in for a hell of a year. I don't know how we keep the house just because usually it switches hands. But if our economy is booming the way I think it's going to be.
Trent Warner 01:10:35 The golden era has started.
Bryan Schley 01:10:37 Like its people are in for a really good treat.
Trent Warner 01:10:41 By the way, that's a that's a quarter that had a, government shutdown, right? Or is that the quarter.
Bryan Schley 01:10:48 Before that is. No. That's.
Trent Warner 01:10:49 Yeah. So imagine imagine if we didn't have a government shutdown. What that could have been.
Bryan Schley 01:10:53 It's it's unbelievable. And all these things that we've seen from the tariffs that are coming to fruition, it's like, oh, you know maybe this wasn't. And if you understood him, that's the thing that people just like if you don't have Trump Derangement Syndrome, but you're a Democrat, if you just took a step back for a second and went, dang, they told me that these tariffs were going to just cost were going to go through the roof.
Bryan Schley 01:11:22 but it hasn't. As a matter of fact, the inflation rate has slowed. 2.1 something. Yeah I mean it's way down. Right. And then they said the jobs were going away. And now I see GDP is up over four. Like over four.
Trent Warner 01:11:39 Yeah.
Bryan Schley 01:11:41 Like if you get rid of the fake the jobs that came back after Covid. Yeah. I mean what's the biggest Biden ever had or Obama. Right. Maybe 1.9. 2.2. Yeah. He's done four over four. Yeah. And this is his first year.
Trent Warner 01:12:00 It's about to take off.
Bryan Schley 01:12:02 Like, just give him a chance. And he's like, I saw I don't know if you've. I think you're genius doing these little ads. Have you seen these? Marco Rubio just has one out basically wishing everybody happy holidays, for Marco Rubio. And he starts going over the accomplishments. Oh, good. And I think it's genius. And he says, what a pleasure it is to work for the greatest president of all time. And I'm like, dude, like, people don't understand little Marco, Right? I mean, that man was brutal to little Marco.
Bryan Schley 01:12:34 Yeah. And the man is just calling him the greatest president on the.
Trent Warner 01:12:39 Have at it. I got a clip of Lee Zeldin is really cool. Some inside baseball about what it's like to work with with Trump.
Bryan Schley 01:12:47 All right, so our post of the week by an idiot.
Trent Warner 01:12:50 Yeah.
Bryan Schley 01:12:51 This was an idiot that the clip was from a dim. And that said we can't let Republicans ruin our health care, right? Yeah. So this is, this is a clip discussing health care and this this is the idiot Tim Walt of all people lecturing us on health care. Oh, and just what comes out of his mouth is stupidity. All right. Cut three.
Speaker 13 01:13:13 And he is going to give you the money, and you're going to go out there and buy this. Health care is the stupidest assessment of health care that I have ever heard out of someone in a position of authority. We have been working on this for decades. Everyone knows that that is absolutely not true. But apparently now that's the plan spoken by someone who, I guarantee you, has never had to purchase their own health care or look at a premium cost or worry about it rising.
Speaker 13 01:13:39 So it's easy to live your life when somebody else mowing your yard and somebody else is paying for your health care and somebody else is looking at the bills, that's not how life works for folks. So I'll tell you what. This is a guy who's never heard of the word affordability. He's never heard of the word accountability either. And in Minnesota, we'll continue to do what we can.
Trent Warner 01:13:58 I mean, fraud, What state had the biggest fraud during Covid?
Bryan Schley 01:14:04 I would say California.
Trent Warner 01:14:05 It was Minnesota.
Bryan Schley 01:14:06 It was Minnesota.
Trent Warner 01:14:07 Minnesota. Did they know? Again, no one's been arrested for that.
Bryan Schley 01:14:11 Yeah, but I mean, for him to say, this man wants to give you money for you to choose your own health care is stupid. Yeah. Like who? I it's like I don't recognize America at some point in time because I'm like, there would have been a time where all of us would have looked at him and went. Of course, we are better off choosing our own health care.
Trent Warner 01:14:33 Do you think his businesses had employees that had health care that had to have premiums? Of course they did.
Bryan Schley 01:14:38 Trump's no, but I'm telling you right now.
Trent Warner 01:14:41 Trump's definitely he's got employees. He had health care plans.
Bryan Schley 01:14:44 Your best. Of course he did. You best go back and look. Let's not forget that there were two assassinations in Minnesota last year. And I'm watching the conspiracy people go, oh, yeah, they were the ones that were going to blow the lid off of the fraud. Yeah. Did the shooter ever work for Tim Walz?
Trent Warner 01:15:10 Yes.
Bryan Schley 01:15:11 It scares the crap out of you. Yeah, people can call me stupid or whatever, but it's not ironic, right? I mean, it's not a coincidence.
Trent Warner 01:15:21 I don't know. He did write a letter in Blaine Waltz. the murderer in my post of the week. Idiot. So here is the report card of the Republicans in 2025. 1.17 million layoffs. 43 days of shutting down the government. $1,200 in tariff costs for each family.
Trent Warner 01:15:48 So you had $1,200 in.
Bryan Schley 01:15:50 Apparently.
Trent Warner 01:15:51 A tariff cost. 50 days. Refusing to swear in Representative Adelita Grijalva.
Bryan Schley 01:15:58 Oh my God.
Trent Warner 01:15:59 What is that? I don't even know what that is.
Bryan Schley 01:16:00 It's the lady who won a runoff.
Speaker 8 01:16:04 But because.
Bryan Schley 01:16:06 The government was shut down, they couldn't swear her.
Trent Warner 01:16:09 In. Oh, okay. Yes. two signal chats were leaked.
Bryan Schley 01:16:15 So let me ask you a question.
Trent Warner 01:16:16 Yeah.
Bryan Schley 01:16:16 What would she have been doing since the government was shut down if she had gotten sworn in?
Trent Warner 01:16:23 Not worked. 79 days of playing golf.
Bryan Schley 01:16:29 Oh my God.
Trent Warner 01:16:30 300 plus days of trying to bury the Epstein files. And voted for the biggest health cut in American history. That's your report card?
Bryan Schley 01:16:43 Wow.
Trent Warner 01:16:43 Well, there you go.
Bryan Schley 01:16:45 I think I have solved the Epstein stuff.
Trent Warner 01:16:48 Okay.
Bryan Schley 01:16:50 At least I saw someone who made it. Makes more sense than anything. Which was that when they started, unredacted and looking at everything, its other world leaders that would jeopardize our relationships across the world is the reason for hiding it.
Bryan Schley 01:17:15 I could see that more than it. Anybody who thinks that Trump is hiding these files because of Trump. Right. I think he's an idiot, and I don't think he's protecting any of his donors because the man doesn't. I mean.
Trent Warner 01:17:30 It seems like the only new pictures I've seen are Clinton.
Bryan Schley 01:17:32 Correct.
Trent Warner 01:17:33 These are the. These are the Clinton files.
Bryan Schley 01:17:35 I think it is world leaders. Like I'm just saying. I mean, it would, you know, it may jeopardize our relationships with with world leaders. Yeah. and I don't, you know, that that to me, makes more sense than anything. Don't you?
Trent Warner 01:17:54 I don't know. I have no idea.
Bryan Schley 01:17:56 Okay.
Trent Warner 01:17:57 I'll just wait for somebody to break bigger news. I haven't heard any news being broken other than seeing old Clinton in a hot tub.
Bryan Schley 01:18:04 And maybe there was really nothing more, because that's what Dershowitz said. You've seen pretty much everything. It's only going to justify what you already know, is what he said. And so far, that's all I've seen.
Bryan Schley 01:18:19 So I mean, have you been shocked about anything? No.
Trent Warner 01:18:24 I saw it the whole time I was to protect Billy.
Bryan Schley 01:18:27 Oh, Clinton.
Trent Warner 01:18:28 Yeah.
Bryan Schley 01:18:28 Yeah. There's no doubt that dude was down there a lot.
Trent Warner 01:18:32 Yeah. Two trains in a row.
Bryan Schley 01:18:35 At a certain point, though, like, don't you just look across the room at the photographer on Epstein's island? Like, if you're there, like, don't you're like, why are you taking pictures? Like, like I'm in a hot tub relaxing. Why are you. What are you doing over there?
Trent Warner 01:18:50 Was that a CIA jacket you have?
Bryan Schley 01:18:53 Yeah. Oh. All right. Moving on to Mount Rushmore. Yeah. Mount Rushmore of sports color analyst. Yeah. For those who don't know, the color analyst is the person not doing the play by play, but the person will be laughing at the way it was spelled. Oh, no. No, I did that on purpose, but,
Trent Warner 01:19:14 Yeah, it's the guy that's the the professional.
Trent Warner 01:19:16 Usually that has insights.
Bryan Schley 01:19:18 Most of the time a retired athlete or something of that sort. Yeah. So I will start with my lists. Yeah. That you have not seen.
Trent Warner 01:19:28 Oh, okay.
Bryan Schley 01:19:29 Yeah. That was fake list.
Trent Warner 01:19:30 Oh, I got you.
Bryan Schley 01:19:31 So my list starts with Troy Aikman.
Trent Warner 01:19:35 I've got him in mind.
Bryan Schley 01:19:37 Troy has always been at the top because I did not see that coming. And I he's just a.
Trent Warner 01:19:43 He's so good.
Bryan Schley 01:19:43 So good. Just relaxed. He doesn't try to be more than what is asked.
Trent Warner 01:19:48 He enjoys the game. Yep. Tell us exactly how he thinks it went. He can be critical, but he's also complimentary. It's not always critical. You know what I mean? Yeah, he's just smart. Yeah, yeah.
Bryan Schley 01:20:00 Joe Morgan.
Trent Warner 01:20:02 Joe Morgan is a great. You had that on your first list, and I thought, you know what I used to love Sunday night baseball.
Bryan Schley 01:20:08 Joe Morgan. Oh, good. What's so good? Well, And I've got one that I guarantee you that will shock you.
Bryan Schley 01:20:14 But growing up. And I even still today, he still does basketball. Dan Bonner was one of my favorites.
Trent Warner 01:20:22 Oh man, I'm so cool that you thought of him. I wish I had thought of him, I didn't have him on my list. But yes, Dan Bonner is fantastic. Still is.
Bryan Schley 01:20:29 Yes. Yeah. Him and, Van Gundy Stan in somebody else did the game with Virginia and it just I just remember that just listening to him go, oh doll.
Trent Warner 01:20:40 Like the old, Jefferson pilot days was.
Bryan Schley 01:20:42 Oh, yes.
Trent Warner 01:20:43 Is it Mike Patrick or it was some kind of Dan Patrick, maybe. Mike Patrick I think it was Mike. Patrick.
Bryan Schley 01:20:47 Mike.
Trent Warner 01:20:48 Patrick. Yeah. And they used to do the Jefferson Pilots sports. Basketball games. Yeah. Food. So good.
Bryan Schley 01:20:52 Food line.
Trent Warner 01:20:53 Would be the the sponsor. Yeah. Yeah, man, those were great days.
Bryan Schley 01:20:56 I loved them. That was ACC was brutal.
Trent Warner 01:20:59 Oh, man was so good.
Bryan Schley 01:21:01 and then I've got which you had you are correct.
Bryan Schley 01:21:05 I had Jeff Van Gundy and Mark Jackson. They almost have to go hand in hand.
Trent Warner 01:21:09 I've got them linked. Yeah.
Bryan Schley 01:21:10 Yeah.
Trent Warner 01:21:11 So they were so good.
Bryan Schley 01:21:12 And then my last one is Kirk Herbstreit.
Trent Warner 01:21:14 How is it that Jeff Van Gundy is not doing basketball at all, but his brother, who will criticize Trump at a heartbeat, of course, is doing basketball and he's his brother is awful.
Bryan Schley 01:21:24 Terrible at.
Trent Warner 01:21:24 It. I can't tell if it's a guy talking or a woman talking.
Bryan Schley 01:21:27 He's just, you.
Trent Warner 01:21:28 Know, it was your last.
Bryan Schley 01:21:29 One. Kirk Herbstreit.
Trent Warner 01:21:31 Oh, that's another good one.
Bryan Schley 01:21:32 Yeah, yeah.
Trent Warner 01:21:34 I like your list. Probably better than mine. Chris's our listener is back on the good side of things. Yeah, that last week was a tough one for me to get past. his list was John Madden, who? I've got that number one in my list of all time. I can't believe you don't have John Madden at all.
Bryan Schley 01:21:51 I liked John, but there were just times I kind of got like, like you get with, Dick Vitale and some of the other ones just boom.
Bryan Schley 01:22:00 I never was never.
Trent Warner 01:22:02 Oh, God, I love that. he was a man of the people. He's got Dick Vitale, which that makes me hurl.
Bryan Schley 01:22:09 Yep.
Trent Warner 01:22:10 Even though he's got D.W..
Bryan Schley 01:22:13 Dude, I wanted to put him on my list. I was a massive D.W. fan.
Trent Warner 01:22:17 As an announcer.
Bryan Schley 01:22:18 Yes. Loved him.
Trent Warner 01:22:20 I thought he was okay, but I don't know, man. He was my favorite race car driver growing up forever. But after a while, I got tired of the boogity, boogity, boogity.
Bryan Schley 01:22:28 Yeah, some of that stuff was stupid, but, dude, he would crack me up with.
Trent Warner 01:22:31 He was humorous.
Bryan Schley 01:22:32 To find time to leave me loose wheel. Like, who would come up with that in the middle of a broadcast?
Trent Warner 01:22:38 And, did he have, like, some kind of a tornado? Like the cars keep the the vortex.
Bryan Schley 01:22:43 Vortex.
Trent Warner 01:22:44 The Bristol keeps the the rain from coming in. Yeah. he's got John Smoltz and I agree with that.
Trent Warner 01:22:51 I am a big John Smoltz fan during a baseball game. Yep. Oh, you know who's we. We need to think about these. The the SEC baseball announcers.
Bryan Schley 01:23:01 Oh they're phenomenal.
Trent Warner 01:23:02 Ben McDonald. Yeah. And that other guy. Yeah that they're both color commentators. But sometimes they do a game together and sometimes they don't. The blacks are so good. Yeah. No, he's kind of bald. Oh, how about the the bald guy? Oh, he's so good. He's not bald.
Bryan Schley 01:23:16 Oh, I know exactly what you're talking about. Yeah. Yeah, that guy is great. Yeah? Yeah, both. There's three of them. There's another one that I love, too.
Trent Warner 01:23:22 That guy is more play by play. Yeah. guy. And then, Bill Walton was his last one. Okay. I loved Bill Walton. I was so upset when he left. I still use his comment before we started the show sometimes. Woody, you don't know this, but, since Emma's been here, we start talking sometimes, and they start asking me about stuff that we already have on the agenda.
Trent Warner 01:23:41 Okay. And Bill Walton used to say this to his announcer. Save it for the show. Bill Walton would sit in the stands. Yeah. Like before the broadcast. That's right. He wouldn't do a pre-production. Nope. He would wait until the the they go to dude tip off, and he'd come out of the stands and sit down. Now he's ready to do the game. Yep, yep. my list John Madden is number one. And that's what made me think about this is the movie. I don't know. I don't know how it's done in the broadcast. I have a hard time. Having Nicolas Cage is John Madden. Yeah, that's been kind of hard for me to to get past. Yeah. Sometimes you don't want a famous actor playing someone famous because you can't get past him being also the famous guy. I can't I can't see John Madden there, but that's what made me think about the best color commentators. Troy Aikman is who I got his second.
Bryan Schley 01:24:33 Yep.
Trent Warner 01:24:33 Dude, how is this off everybody's list?
Bryan Schley 01:24:35 I know Jon Gruden Jon Gruden.
Bryan Schley 01:24:37 He was so good. Oh, God. I guess because it was a short period of time.
Trent Warner 01:24:42 Well I mean it wasn't awful short at least 5 or 6 years wasn't it.
Bryan Schley 01:24:45 Yeah, maybe.
Trent Warner 01:24:46 And then he went back to coaching. Oh, I was so upset that he went back to coaching. He was so good. in racing, though, because y'all said D.W., I thought about my favorite race car. An analyst. Benny. Parsons.
Bryan Schley 01:24:58 Parsons.
Trent Warner 01:24:58 Oh, he was so good. Was that before your time?
Bryan Schley 01:25:00 No, I mean, I remember Benny.
Trent Warner 01:25:02 Yeah, yeah, he was sort of like John Madden. He was that everyday kind of guy, and he would laugh and just didn't take himself too seriously. Yeah. Yeah. And then my last one, I was thinking of the NBA. My favorite was the van. The team of Van Gundy and Jackson.
Bryan Schley 01:25:16 Yes.
Trent Warner 01:25:16 How are they not together now on a channel.
Bryan Schley 01:25:20 That is a 1,000% proof of die?
Trent Warner 01:25:25 Yes.
Bryan Schley 01:25:25 Because that the three Mike Breen, Van Gundy and Mark Jackson was as good as you can ever get of a team.
Bryan Schley 01:25:35 Like they were so good because Van Gundy was funny enough. And then Mark Jackson was that guy that just yeah, yeah, he gave you the game and then he could give you as a player where you know, it just I don't know. They weren't like, I can't stand the ones that give you too much.
Trent Warner 01:25:55 Yeah.
Bryan Schley 01:25:55 Like don't don't explain to me, you know what a a reach block is or something, right. I mean that's for.
Trent Warner 01:26:02 And then that Doris Burks.
Bryan Schley 01:26:03 Oh.
Trent Warner 01:26:03 Trying to be one of the guys. Like, she knows all the cliches to say. It's like, come on, stop trying so hard.
Bryan Schley 01:26:10 If she's like, you could play today, you could play a drinking game. Bully ball. Yeah, because she's going to say it a hundred times in a basketball game. Yeah. And then I don't like the guy that does the game with her.
Trent Warner 01:26:24 I thought that was.
Bryan Schley 01:26:25 Used to be. But I've the guy that always does the,
Trent Warner 01:26:30 I was a Harlan.
Bryan Schley 01:26:31 No, the black guy that does the. Oh, yeah.
Trent Warner 01:26:34 Skip. Skip Jones or something.
Bryan Schley 01:26:36 Yeah. That has to throw the the young stuff in there. Oh. You know. Yeah, yeah. He dribbled him out of his shoes or something like that. And I'm like, good lord.
Trent Warner 01:26:45 They just think that they add what you said, the di that everybody just accepts it. And it's not when those, when those teams get together, like you had Pat Summerall and John Madden, that was a chemistry that was every Sunday you knew was going to be great. Yeah. you couldn't have Troy Aikman, by the way. Go to Monday Night Football and not be not bring Buck.
Bryan Schley 01:27:07 That's right. You had to bring the team.
Trent Warner 01:27:08 You have to get. It's just they have that.
Bryan Schley 01:27:10 That's exactly right.
Trent Warner 01:27:12 You can't just force it and think it's going to work and just shove it down our throats and go, oh, that's, ESPN basketball is still going on. No.
Bryan Schley 01:27:19 That's what happens when you get people like Woody involved.
Bryan Schley 01:27:22 I'll tell you what. Yeah. What about Al.
Speaker 14 01:27:24 Michaels? Y'all didn't put Al Michaels.
Bryan Schley 01:27:26 He is an announcer.
Trent Warner 01:27:27 We just play by play. This is not a color. These were color commentators. Oh, these were one man.
Bryan Schley 01:27:32 I had.
Speaker 14 01:27:33 A whole different list in my head.
Trent Warner 01:27:34 Then. Yeah, because, you know, I mean. Whoa, Nelly. Keith.
Bryan Schley 01:27:37 Keith Miller.
Trent Warner 01:27:39 Dude, that sounded exactly like it.
Bryan Schley 01:27:40 I love that.
Trent Warner 01:27:40 Guy.
Bryan Schley 01:27:41 Yeah, we'll have to do those because those were, man.
Trent Warner 01:27:44 The play by play guys were are incredible too. Yeah. That's why sometimes they just set up the color guy to be great. You know what I mean? Yeah.
Bryan Schley 01:27:53 Yeah, definitely.
Trent Warner 01:27:54 Oh, you know who we left off?
Bryan Schley 01:27:56 Who?
Trent Warner 01:27:57 Bart Warner.
Bryan Schley 01:27:58 Oh, he was terrific in basketball.
Trent Warner 01:28:00 Liberty High School basketball legend. Down in Portland, Maine. What is he? Down?
Bryan Schley 01:28:07 What was it? Bridge and Maine.
Trent Warner 01:28:09 Bridge and.
Bryan Schley 01:28:09 Maine. That's the intersection.
Bryan Schley 01:28:10 Downtown Bedford.
Trent Warner 01:28:11 Oh, bridge and Maine. Yeah. I thought it was the state of Maine.
Bryan Schley 01:28:14 No. Bridge and main street.
Trent Warner 01:28:16 Oh, okay. From Bridge and Main Street. Yeah, I thought it was a Bridgerton. Maine.
Bryan Schley 01:28:22 No, but listen, I did tell the school that we are available for playoffs, and I would love to do a game again with playoffs. It's fun going to Roanoke College and covering like I would like to cover the whole what can we do that this year?
Speaker 14 01:28:37 Cover what we can do anything. Anything's possible.
Bryan Schley 01:28:40 Like last year we went and we covered the girls, right? Yeah. but when you leave, there's another game like I would love to cover.
Speaker 14 01:28:49 Like.
Bryan Schley 01:28:49 Yeah, I do the game I like.
Speaker 14 01:28:52 They're like, it's fun.
Trent Warner 01:28:53 A double header.
Bryan Schley 01:28:54 Yeah.
Trent Warner 01:28:55 Gotcha.
Bryan Schley 01:28:55 Like again if her. Hopefully Jeremy's not listening right now. If our stupid athletic directors would bring back the Seminole district tournaments.
Trent Warner 01:29:06 Oh.
Speaker 14 01:29:07 I can stop.
Bryan Schley 01:29:08 With the excuses.
Trent Warner 01:29:09 Like, literally, I would do four games in a row.
Bryan Schley 01:29:11 This is what drives me crazy about coaches. They look at you as a player and they go. Don't get me excuses. Yeah, well then when I ask about Seminole District tournaments, I'm going to get all these excuses. Yeah, stop with the excuses.
Trent Warner 01:29:22 Well you used to do them.
Bryan Schley 01:29:23 Other conferences do them. So don't tell me that it ruins whatever. Stop. Just give me that damn tournament, man.
Trent Warner 01:29:31 That year that my son was in his senior tournament. It was LCA and JF in the finals. That's the practice gym at Liberty. You couldn't. It was standing room only.
Bryan Schley 01:29:41 And we still talk about Liberty not being very good versus Jefferson Forrest who was number one in the about. Randy running the damn four corners.
Trent Warner 01:29:50 And we scored I think eight points in the first half.
Bryan Schley 01:29:53 And it was funny. Yeah I remember JF fans being irate and I remember you and another guy like literally texting me laughing. Yeah, like this is funny because eventually you knew it was going to wear off.
Bryan Schley 01:30:08 Yeah, but it's a strategy. And it was, you know, it was keeping them in the game.
Trent Warner 01:30:13 When it's your only shot and you have I don't know, we just missed so much. And everyone wants to say for the kids, for the kid we gotta do it for the kids. That was for the kids. Yeah. I mean, they get to go reset themselves and play in a tournament. Oh, it was so much fun.
Bryan Schley 01:30:30 We gotta bring it back. Yeah. And I don't know that gone. If we have to have three of them sitting in these chairs. Oh, yeah. And just make them explain to me why we can't do this. It's just beyond me.
Trent Warner 01:30:42 I mean, if you could do it, AC, glass, you could do it, Russ. Or you could do it. Heritage. Not heritage. Their court is phenomenally horrible, right?
Bryan Schley 01:30:49 with the track and everything.
Trent Warner 01:30:50 Yeah. It's awful, but if you did it at Liberty. I mean, those are some great gems that can hold a lot of people.
Bryan Schley 01:30:56 The excitement is so much fun. Yeah, so much fun. But now.
Trent Warner 01:31:02 Hopefully we get it.
Bryan Schley 01:31:03 Back. We can't do it. All right. Moving on off of sports and onto. Or. Excuse me, off of Mount Rushmore and on to have at it.
Speaker 15 01:31:13 I just got three things to say. God bless our troops. God bless America and Jesus. Stars you are and God.
Trent Warner 01:31:45 250 shows and still the best bumper.
Speaker 14 01:31:48 It's it's when it comes across my TikTok feed, I get pumped. I still get fuck.
Bryan Schley 01:31:53 Anybody who's listening, you can go to YouTube and check out at Underscore podcast and subscribe. And you can get that bumper every week.
Speaker 14 01:32:02 Be sure to comment to make it fun.
Bryan Schley 01:32:05 You can do that at TikTok.
Trent Warner 01:32:06 Yeah, well, you can do it to the other. But the other one, it's like YouTube I think are smarter people.
Bryan Schley 01:32:11 Yes.
Trent Warner 01:32:11 Tik Tik Tok or just the.
Bryan Schley 01:32:13 The if.
Trent Warner 01:32:14 You're the lowest of our society.
Speaker 14 01:32:16 That's right. There you go.
Trent Warner 01:32:17 And I love it.
Speaker 14 01:32:18 I can't wait for this to be on Tik Tok.
Trent Warner 01:32:21 It'll be Brian looking at his phone while I'm talking. You're brother? Yeah. What did he say?
Bryan Schley 01:32:27 Change of plans.
Trent Warner 01:32:28 Oh, okay. Well, can we include me? Oh, it's because y'all were going to ride together. Yeah. All right, so some of these clips are a little bit long, but because we don't have Carolina. Kevin, I feel okay because I was going to cut them off. But these are so important and especially today's news and what I love about this. You know we had a week off because of Christmas right? We didn't do the show last week. So I thought, okay, I'm going to have a, Some clips that I sent before Christmas. I can take some time off, but dude, the news that is going on this week is just astounding. So I didn't even use some of the older clips that I had. I've got twice as many, but this is what I would call real journalism.
Trent Warner 01:33:05 Listen to how this guy finds the daycare centers. And this dude is probably what Nick Shirley. He's probably 25, 26. I don't know, maybe something about that age, but if you see him doing his work, it's real journalistic work. Yes. All right. So let's listen to cut $10.
Speaker 16 01:33:26 I knocked on the door and to my surprise, somebody actually answered the door. Hello?
Speaker 17 01:33:32 Can we speak? I would like to check a child in the daycare. Can I speak to a manager? Where can I get paperwork to file for my son? I wanted to put my son Joey in daycare.
Speaker 16 01:33:47 And after a few questions, the lady went silent.
Speaker 17 01:33:49 Looks like little Joey Shirley ain't going to daycare here. Now, where are we going?
Speaker 18 01:33:53 Now we're going to sweet angel childcare.
Speaker 17 01:33:56 We're in the middle of a strip mall here, inside of this neighborhood.
Trent Warner 01:34:00 20 fiscal year, 26 million views.
Speaker 18 01:34:02 This facility, which sheds its license for 74 kids, was paid $1.26 million in tax money.
Speaker 18 01:34:11 And there are no kids. And all the facilities are the same way. All of them.
Speaker 17 01:34:15 Let's see if anyone opens.
Speaker 19 01:34:17 Yeah. Let's see.
Speaker 16 01:34:18 Once again, I try to find a spot for my son Joey, and they would not open the door.
Speaker 17 01:34:23 I want to put my son Joey in daycare.
Trent Warner 01:34:26 Can you pause this just for a second?
Speaker 17 01:34:28 To put my.
Trent Warner 01:34:28 Okay in all the daycares that I've ever signed up for? There's always been a vestibule. There's always been a lobby that I can go into and say, hey, now, do they have it secure behind the desk? Sure. Yeah, but notice every one of these doors. He can't go into the entrance.
Bryan Schley 01:34:45 This is what kills me. Trent is the the Democrats claim. He's the problem.
Speaker 14 01:34:51 Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah.
Trent Warner 01:34:52 I've got that.
Bryan Schley 01:34:52 Too. You wouldn't let some creepy guy into a daycare.
Trent Warner 01:34:55 Yeah, he now needs to be registered as a pedophile.
Bryan Schley 01:34:57 Then how? How does people how do people sign up?
Trent Warner 01:35:00 Exactly.
Trent Warner 01:35:01 Okay. I'm sorry. I just get so done.
Speaker 17 01:35:03 Joe. Yes. Is this your daycare center?
Speaker 20 01:35:08 No, I work there.
Speaker 17 01:35:10 What's happened? I just want to put a child in daycare. But all the daycare centers seem to be closed. No one's opening the doors. You work here?
Speaker 21 01:35:17 I was, yeah. What's happening?
Speaker 18 01:35:19 Where are the kids? Says it's licensed for 74 children. Right here. State of Minnesota. Where are the kids? They've got paid $1.26 million in fiscal year 2025. It says they have a capacity for 74 children. When? When? Where are the kids? Right here. State of Minnesota website. You work here and you don't know?
Speaker 21 01:35:42 I don't know. I was there before. I don't know what was going on.
Speaker 18 01:35:44 Were there any kids when you worked here?
Speaker 21 01:35:46 He's dead. He's dead. How many? I don't know.
Speaker 18 01:35:49 You don't.
Speaker 21 01:35:49 Know? Yeah.
Speaker 18 01:35:50 You worked here? Okay, well, then you're not have any help.
Speaker 17 01:35:52 Can I put my son in a daycare here?
Speaker 22 01:35:54 No, no, I don't know.
Speaker 17 01:35:55 Can I speak to someone?
Speaker 22 01:35:56 No no no.
Speaker 17 01:35:57 No. Yeah. I would like to see if I can put my son Joey here.
Speaker 22 01:36:01 Who is he? Son Joey.
Speaker 17 01:36:02 My son Joey. Can I check out daycare center?
Speaker 22 01:36:04 What am I, sir? No, I'm the owner. Do you?
Speaker 14 01:36:12 Wow.
Trent Warner 01:36:13 Okay, I'm going to harken back to the little beacon. That was the place that's now actually not even open that I took my kids to.
Speaker 14 01:36:22 Sure.
Trent Warner 01:36:23 They paid their employees based on the number of parents that had kids in that program. And you couldn't have too many kids, right? You have to limit. So the health department make sure that you're not having an overabundance of kids per the rooms and per the teachers that you have.
Bryan Schley 01:36:39 Right, right.
Trent Warner 01:36:40 You got to have a clean facility. Yep. Those are the things the government should be doing, is making sure you have a clean facility and you don't have an overabundance kid. Abundance of kids, right? Things along those lines, not handing out money to non-citizens.
Trent Warner 01:36:57 For what? That guy that was walking up there that says, I used to work here, that couldn't answer how many kids were there. Did he look like that? He should have been watching kids that I know, like. First off, I think it's the hardest job of all jobs.
Bryan Schley 01:37:11 Sure.
Trent Warner 01:37:12 That is the last. Like, I used to go pick up my kids from Little Beacon, and I would think, who in the hell could choose this for a living, right?
Bryan Schley 01:37:19 It's difficult.
Trent Warner 01:37:20 I'm not. I'm not taking care. I don't I mean, I was going to say I don't like taking care of my own kids. No, I'm saying I can. It's tough enough to take care of your own kids. But then to be the kind of person that's going to take care of ten other kids.
Bryan Schley 01:37:33 Well, flip the script a little bit.
Speaker 14 01:37:34 Yeah.
Bryan Schley 01:37:35 You and I, you know, we've seen local news cover a daycare center issue where a kid. A nanny cam caught something.
Bryan Schley 01:37:46 Whatever. Right. Right. And there's government regulations that look at this stuff, like you were saying. Yeah. Not no daycare I've ever seen.
Trent Warner 01:37:59 Okay. So I've done a little bit more research on this. So this guy Nick Shirley is the one who did this, and it's got 25.5 million views. Just that clip. And there's some other clips that are really good of them slamming the door on them, like not letting them in. And this, this kid is probably going to be murdered. I mean, honest to God, he goes into places and does things and I think, man, are you crazy? Do you remember the name John Stossel?
Bryan Schley 01:38:22 Yeah, John was great at it.
Trent Warner 01:38:24 The best. Yeah. 2020.
Speaker 14 01:38:26 Yeah.
Trent Warner 01:38:26 That's who used to do these things. They would. They would go. They would go to the car dealerships that are ripping off old ladies. Yeah. All right. Where are you now?
Bryan Schley 01:38:36 Correct. That's real journalism.
Speaker 14 01:38:38 Yeah.
Bryan Schley 01:38:39 By the way, John Stossel is still great.
Bryan Schley 01:38:41 He's got a he's got a page. Woody, who's the guy? I'm thinking about Project Veritas. Like how he's still O'Keefe. O'Keefe? How is he still alive?
Speaker 14 01:38:50 Yeah.
Bryan Schley 01:38:50 They tried to take him down, but those are the guys. And what gets me is when they break the stories, they become the the problem. Yeah. Democrats, they I mean, they they go after him. He's a lunatic. you know, he was the one, I think that broke the the lady that the abortion clinics were selling off parts. Yeah. And he had him in a he had him saying it.
Speaker 14 01:39:14 Yeah.
Bryan Schley 01:39:15 And it's like he, you know. Oh, he coerced these. They're selling.
Speaker 14 01:39:20 Off parts.
Bryan Schley 01:39:20 Is the is the.
Speaker 14 01:39:21 Story.
Trent Warner 01:39:22 And the, the the problem with Minnesota and the state funds. But I know it's also federal funds, but it's so many of the white liberals that are saying none of them are saying it shouldn't have been spent. Yeah. You know what I mean? They're saying the fraud is the kids weren't there.
Trent Warner 01:39:38 I'm saying, what are you spending any of that on?
Bryan Schley 01:39:40 Correct.
Trent Warner 01:39:41 Yeah. If somebody was really a capitalist in from Somalia and he started a Somalian daycare, Somalian people can bring their kids and pay them and he can be a capitalist that way. Not us paying for it.
Speaker 14 01:39:54 That's right.
Trent Warner 01:39:55 Oh, it just brings me up. But Tim Waltz knows who to blame. Cut to 11.
Speaker 23 01:40:02 Do you want to hear more from members of leaders from the Somali community to say, we need to hold our we need to look at ourselves. We need to hold our own neighbors accountable, because look at the damage that this is done to our community. What do you want to hear more from? Instead of just saying, don't blame us. Do you want to see more ownership and oversight from within this?
Speaker 13 01:40:24 Look, it's not law abiding citizens. If that were the case, there's a lot of white men should be holding a lot of white men accountable for the for the crimes that they have committed. I think for the community to maybe educate their population, because I think what you're seeing here is they're secondary victims in this, that there's there's providers inside the community that are then victimizing the community themselves by signing them up.
Speaker 13 01:40:44 Because when we're going to some of these people, they're like, I had no idea I was in this program. So I think it's it's asking us then, you know, for every crime, which of course, the majority being committed by white men, asking us to do more about that. I think it's crime in general. And I think the biggest thing on this is, is just making sure that we're educating the population. And again, this is 80 people or so that have been convicted in this, maybe some more in that.
Speaker 23 01:41:09 But do you want to hear.
Speaker 14 01:41:10 What is he talking.
Bryan Schley 01:41:11 About.
Trent Warner 01:41:12 Okay. That video that this guy just did that wasn't.
Bryan Schley 01:41:16 White men.
Trent Warner 01:41:17 Five years ago. And how many white men were doing that?
Bryan Schley 01:41:21 And he's oblivious his own state. Like how did.
Trent Warner 01:41:27 Okay, so let's think about this from what Rush Limbaugh used to say. Real vil okay from real vil. Real vil is Somali refugees that were taken from Somalia or allowed to come into our country and flocked to a place where the original people started coming and saying, hey, we got a boondoggle here.
Trent Warner 01:41:50 So when you come to the country, you make sure you choose Minneapolis. So we need more of you to come to Minneapolis. Yeah. Do all of them speak English? Do a minority speak English? Probably a minority speak English, I'm guessing. Right. So they come in their own community so that they can have their own language. Real ville. How many of them would know how to fill out an application to start a daycare? Somebody did it.
Speaker 14 01:42:15 Sure.
Trent Warner 01:42:16 Somebody knows how to rig the system. Somebody knew how to do the autistic kids. To go from six centers for autism to 460 centers to autism. Yeah, somebody did that.
Bryan Schley 01:42:30 Yeah.
Trent Warner 01:42:30 How come we can't raid these places and take people to jail?
Bryan Schley 01:42:35 Yeah, that's the part that I don't understand, and I. I don't understand how places like that. Like, right now, in my whole life, if you said Minnesota, the first thing I think about is Vikings. Yeah. And like, literally there's a company I don't know if you've ever heard of Marvin Windows, but it's probably the most expensive window manufacturer in the world.
Bryan Schley 01:43:02 They make phenomenal windows. They're unbelievable. And they're made in Minnesota. But they, they're most of their population is Vikings, and I have no idea how that happens. But when I think of Minnesota now, I think of lunatics.
Speaker 14 01:43:19 Yeah.
Bryan Schley 01:43:19 Like that is what your state has become.
Trent Warner 01:43:23 So there's the other, I guess the third, fraud that I've heard about, besides, Covid was its own big issue that I've been waiting for people to get arrested for that for the medical Covid, fraud that they were having. Sure. Experience is the lifts, the transports. So they had let's just call them taxi drivers. They were getting funded to transport people for medical purposes. Yeah. They didn't have to report any of their own transportation. Who they took, where they took them to. If you took an Uber, Uber, as a company knows, you went from here to here. They know who paid you. They know who rode. How do we not track any of that? And they can just be paid.
Bryan Schley 01:44:08 I don't understand either, because in the private sector, if any of this stuff happens, you recognize it at a company level and you, you go, whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa. What's going on down there? Yeah, right. We gotta fix that. Even massive companies, right? They figure this stuff out. How does the government? Never. Because I lived what you're talking about in a company here in Lynchburg. When, when? When we first started construction, there was two doors down from us. We were in a little shopping center. Not shopping center, but a little, whatever they called you. Right? Little storefront? Yeah. Two doors down from us was a, education center. And what they did was they recruited people and they would coach people on getting jobs. And then once they got the job, they would tutor them at the job, like, I had never heard of such thing. And I listened to the guy outside. He'd go outside and smoke, right.
Bryan Schley 01:45:05 The recruiter guy, and he would say, look, they're changing the rules again. You know, they're not going to pay us every time we go out to spend time with these people. They will only pay us for the first two months. After that, they're on their own. And he's like, however, I did find a loophole. They will pay us for every application that we fill out. We get 250 bucks. So they're just going out literally. And he's like, I've got two vehicles assigned for y'all to go out and recruit every week. And he said the first place you go make sure you check the unemployment because they're required to do applications. Let's just bring them here. We'll fill out the application for them and then send them on their way. We don't care if they get a job.
Speaker 14 01:45:50 And he's.
Bryan Schley 01:45:50 Saying.
Speaker 14 01:45:51 This. Yeah.
Bryan Schley 01:45:52 And I'm just like, dude, it's every government program.
Trent Warner 01:45:55 So I think this was let's say I think I've heard 11 billion, but I can't remember.
Trent Warner 01:46:00 The numbers are just so mind boggling now. I don't I can't remember what the number was. But the problem with government is no one is saying that that money shouldn't have been spent. Right. The fraud is they were caught. That's the problem. They were caught. So what government would do? Let's say there's 460 centers for the autistic thing. Now, let's say the feds came in and said, we're auditing. You need to clean it up. Let's get back to the six centers that it was before. They're going to say that the the Republicans or the feds have cut, you know, 10 billion out of medical research or, you know what I mean, how they do. That's the problem with this. Nobody is saying we have to stop spending the money. As you said earlier, we're going to build a task force. Like, we're going to take that money and still use that money and bearing more employees in.
Bryan Schley 01:46:51 We're going to hire more IRS agents to get more money.
Speaker 14 01:46:54 Yeah.
Trent Warner 01:46:56 So, if someone embezzled and you mentioned a private company, and this happened to me personally, to a personal experience, if somebody embezzled a company, it can kill the company. Yes, but it only kills it once. Right? Right. The company can't survive. If it doesn't survive, it's done. But not the government. This fraud is going to keep going. No one is saying they're going to be upset that the budget is not as high as it used to be.
Bryan Schley 01:47:20 Yes. That's right. Yeah. Yeah. Because for every facility that closes down, it just reopens.
Trent Warner 01:47:26 Yeah. We'll spend it somewhere else. Correct. Yeah. All right, so, this I thought was hilarious. This is Oprah's prediction. One plus year ago. Cut 15.
Speaker 24 01:47:39 Sick. This one out. We don't get to sit this one out.
Trent Warner 01:47:48 I can hear the women.
Speaker 24 01:47:49 If we don't show up tomorrow, it is entirely possible that we will not have the opportunity to ever cast a ballot again.
Speaker 14 01:48:02 Jesus.
Speaker 14 01:48:04 By the way. Oh my God. We got three more years.
Trent Warner 01:48:07 Maybe we can get it done.
Speaker 14 01:48:10 How are we?
Bryan Schley 01:48:11 How are we all glossing over that now? They're admitting Georgia.
Speaker 14 01:48:16 Oh, that wasn't even.
Trent Warner 01:48:17 In our news.
Speaker 14 01:48:17 Correct.
Bryan Schley 01:48:19 And you hear her say that, and you go. Listen, they found 360,000.
Speaker 14 01:48:24 Yeah.
Bryan Schley 01:48:25 And Trump lost by 11,000.
Speaker 14 01:48:27 Yeah.
Bryan Schley 01:48:28 Like, why are we now saying that? We've found it. Like, you and I talk about it all the time. Why did it take five years?
Speaker 14 01:48:36 Yeah.
Trent Warner 01:48:36 By the way, I always said the math is easy. You go to the places where the the numbers shot up and you figure out where do the numbers come from? So Rudy Giuliani ended up being right.
Speaker 14 01:48:45 Correct. And lost all his money.
Bryan Schley 01:48:47 All the.
Speaker 14 01:48:48 Time? Yeah.
Bryan Schley 01:48:50 Oh, God. just.
Speaker 14 01:48:51 He.
Trent Warner 01:48:52 Says it was.
Speaker 14 01:48:52 Such.
Trent Warner 01:48:53 Conviction that women are going to lose their right to vote. I don't as Trump should he try that as an executive order.
Speaker 14 01:49:03 Just voting. Yeah.
Trent Warner 01:49:08 All right. okay. So dude I love these things. And I told you there's some clips that I do that I just I can't wait.
Bryan Schley 01:49:16 This is already making me squeamish.
Speaker 14 01:49:18 I can't wait for it for Greyson here.
Trent Warner 01:49:20 I can't wait for Grayson or Perry to watch these things because it's, like, right up their alley. But this is a woman. It's kind of hard to see it first, but she's sitting. I think she's sitting, like, in a CVS. And she's sitting down and she has see her dog as a husky.
Speaker 14 01:49:36 Yeah.
Trent Warner 01:49:36 Her dog's paws are on her lap. She's got blue hair, green hair. And the dog is a what do they call service dog. All right, let's let's listen to her. Get on this guy at the store.
Speaker 25 01:49:48 On the floor until she tells me I can get up. Can I get up?
Trent Warner 01:49:59 She's asking the dog.
Speaker 25 01:50:00 Please don't do that. She is a working service dog. Distracting a service dog is a class misdemeanor in this state.
Speaker 26 01:50:07 Focus my ass.
Speaker 25 01:50:11 Yeah, well, she's currently working and distracting her is a class classy misdemeanor. Hocus. Pocus.
Trent Warner 01:50:26 She's having a panic attack.
Speaker 25 01:50:27 Oh, are you kidding?
Bryan Schley 01:50:29 Oh, my God, I can't watch it.
Trent Warner 01:50:30 That was so loud, I couldn't quite get. so what she's doing is I think she first started out. I think she first started out saying she. She's not going to get out of the floor until her dog tells her she can.
Bryan Schley 01:50:42 Correct.
Trent Warner 01:50:43 All right, then she's trying to talk to the dog, and I guess some dude is just distracting the dog. And so I didn't know this, but I guess a what? The service dog. If you distract a service dog, it's. She called it a class three misdemeanor.
Bryan Schley 01:50:58 Sure. I just like what the guy said.
Trent Warner 01:51:01 What did he.
Bryan Schley 01:51:02 Say? Service dog, my ass.
Trent Warner 01:51:04 He just want a treat. That's what. He's. God.
Speaker 27 01:51:08 Oh my God.
Trent Warner 01:51:09 And then she does the focus. Like focus like this dog is just so listening to me.
Speaker 28 01:51:13 I'm having a panic attack.
Trent Warner 01:51:15 Yeah. All right, so, in the spirit of Christmas. This one, I think is a little bit long, but it's worth listening to. It's just the generation that we have here. So here's another one. I don't know if she has something in her nose or not, but she does. She's on both sides. Look at it. Okay. Yes, they always do for some reason.
Bryan Schley 01:51:34 Staples. But okay. We got those.
Trent Warner 01:51:37 Okay. I am not making fun of the angel tree like I've done.
Bryan Schley 01:51:42 Yes you are.
Trent Warner 01:51:43 No, no I'm not.
Bryan Schley 01:51:44 Oh.
Trent Warner 01:51:45 No, I said, I'm not making fun of the process of the angel tree like my dad when he was a marine.
Bryan Schley 01:51:50 We do it every year.
Trent Warner 01:51:50 Toys for tots is important, right? So an angel tree is something. But I've never personally, I guess, been fortunate in my life. I have known someone to receive on the other end.
Bryan Schley 01:52:01 I got.
Trent Warner 01:52:01 You right. It's kind of an anonymous donation.
Trent Warner 01:52:04 Like you're anonymous. So this woman is now going to tell you what it's like to be on her end where you're receiving something, so Merry Christmas. Cut 20. No cut.
Speaker 29 01:52:13 I didn't want to come on here. Dirty. And talk about this because I don't want people to call me ungrateful. But last Friday I got my kids Angel tree. And I'm really disappointed. And I'm not ungrateful, but I feel like if you're broke, you shouldn't be trying to do Angel tree for anybody. Tell me why. My daughter. She's nine. All we asked for for her was for makeup. So she wanted. And they got her makeup. But tell me why they got her. Like Walmart makeup, like Maybelline, like cheap stuff. Like we wanted Dior, Sephora brands, stuff like that. They're high. And like, I do her makeup for school. She used to learn how to do makeup, but I want her to practice on good makeup because I don't want her skin to break out.
Speaker 29 01:53:01 But I do her makeup for school. I don't like, overdo it because she's, you know, she's young, like I do blush eyeshadow because, like, she doesn't really know how to eyeshadow, but I do it on her eyeliner sometimes. I do like really small, like strips of lashes and stuff. Anyways, my four year old is warm. I asked for one of those next playgrounds. They're only 200 bucks. Tell me why they just got him. Like a smaller, like, playground set. That's like $99. Like you could just spend $100 more. It wasn't that big of a deal. It was not serious. So now he has, like, a smaller playground. which is fine, but, like, I wanted the bigger one so we could all play as a family. but now he's the only one that fits in that. But anyways.
Bryan Schley 01:53:49 She got tattoos, by the way.
Speaker 29 01:53:51 My eldest, my 13 year old. We asked for a Nintendo Switch. That's the, you know, the second the one on it just came out.
Speaker 29 01:54:00 Tell me why they got him. The old generation one, not the new one.
Speaker 27 01:54:05 Oh.
Speaker 29 01:54:06 Like it was probably like 200 bucks more. Maybe. Maybe a little less. I don't know, but I feel.
Bryan Schley 01:54:12 Like. Do you believe these are fake or. No.
Speaker 29 01:54:14 If you're not, like an influencer, that's like rich, I feel like you shouldn't be doing angel trees because now, like, my kids are disappointed. I'm disappointed. And like, I want to come on here and tell you guys, but that's crazy. Anyways. That's it.
Trent Warner 01:54:32 All right. The best part of this is scroll down and just let's get.
Bryan Schley 01:54:35 A couple of the best.
Trent Warner 01:54:37 It's a joke, right? I don't I mean, seem pretty serious to me. Plus, I love if someone's really producing something to be on TikTok. Would you really be chewing while you're doing the thing? And you took the time to make a video of this to bitch about it?
Bryan Schley 01:54:51 So here's some.
Trent Warner 01:54:54 What did you say? Did she eat all the presents and blame it on the angel tree? Oh.
Bryan Schley 01:55:04 God.
Trent Warner 01:55:08 Yeah.
Speaker 27 01:55:09 Oh my gosh.
Bryan Schley 01:55:10 So I'll give you some good news if you want to hear some good Christmas news. Oh, yeah. So my wife, always she, volunteers her time down at the Christmas station. Bedford has a Christmas station, which is totally volunteer non-profit. Right. Phenomenal. all year long, it's like a thrift store. They take all the old stuff off the shelves at the end of the year, and they stock it with brand new stuff for Christmas. And families come in and they're Christmas shop. They're at the place and it's all, it's perfect for my wife because she gets like a $10,000 budget to go shopping in her department.
Trent Warner 01:55:51 Oh, so she has fun shopping. Correct. She doesn't bring it home.
Bryan Schley 01:55:54 No, no, it goes on the shelf. Right. And then she works there like she works there throughout. She. She donates her time once a month There to work. And then during Christmas time, she's there when the families come. So I asked a serious question.
Bryan Schley 01:56:09 I said, what percentage actually deserve, you know what they're getting? You know who's there that's, you know, doesn't deserve. And she said, to be honest with you, I would say 95% of the people that come in desperately need what we're giving away.
Trent Warner 01:56:27 Oh, nice.
Bryan Schley 01:56:27 And I said, that's wonderful. And she I said, here's what my question is. Is it the same family going there and then going to shop with a cop? Is that another one that y'all do? Woody. Yeah. With the town. And then, you know, there's other I was like, it's the same people going to each place though, she said. And here again, this is where I think localities are awesome. They're actually come up with a database. So it limits where they go, which I think is phenomenal. Yeah. That's there are people that need this stuff. Yeah. You know, you spending time, last year going to, Lee County? Yeah. There are people that are in need.
Bryan Schley 01:57:08 Yeah. And we all should do more. But it's when it's when people take advantage. When that right there just infuriates me.
Trent Warner 01:57:14 That's why I brought it.
Speaker 27 01:57:16 Oh. Ha.
Bryan Schley 01:57:17 Well, give me some more.
Trent Warner 01:57:19 All right, so this one is a little long, which is what she said. And.
Bryan Schley 01:57:28 This is Lee Zeldin and Patrick Beth. David.
Trent Warner 01:57:30 Yeah. So I don't know that Patrick. David. Didn't you know that's what his name was?
Bryan Schley 01:57:33 Billionaire.
Trent Warner 01:57:34 Are you serious?
Speaker 27 01:57:35 Yeah.
Bryan Schley 01:57:35 Phenomenal guy.
Trent Warner 01:57:36 I I've seen him on so many things, but I didn't even know what his name was. He's really smart. Really? Oh, good. So he's got a podcast that I get a lot of clips from that or that I see a lot of clips of. And Lee Zeldin is doing an interview. And what I loved about this, it's a little bit long, but it gives you the insight and that's why I called it cut 47 is what it's like to work with with Trump.
Trent Warner 01:57:56 Okay. Yep. Trump story.
Speaker 13 01:57:59 Of.
Speaker 30 01:57:59 You know, spending time. I'm sure you spend money. I'll give you a good one from recent memory. He calls me up too late at night. I'm laying down in bed. Light lights are out. I'm ready to go to sleep. Fortunately, he didn't call me a little bit later because I actually was about to be asleep. I wasn't asleep yet. Phone rings. He's talking about an issue that he's pretty fired up over. He wants me to call another cabinet member and one other person and then get back to him. So, you know, Mr. President, it's getting kind of late at night. If I if I reach them right away, I'll definitely call you back. But let's say it's hard for me to reach one or both of them and it gets really late. do you want me to just call you back in the morning? He says no. Whatever time it is, I'll be up. So I call the first person up and he answers the phone.
Speaker 30 01:58:43 It was a five minute conversation. Boxes checked, had what I needed, hung up the phone. All good call. The second person can't reach him. I'm calling over and over and over again. I'm texting. I'm using different messaging apps. I'm using different devices. I cannot reach this other person who is a member of the cabinet. Eventually I do hear back from the person. We have a call. Got the information I need. Boxes? Check. We hang up. I'm looking at time. It is extremely. It's the middle of the night. The president said whatever time it was, I'll be up, so I'll call him. He is wide awake. I mean, he is, you would think, like for a normal person. You're like, dude, you just drank like seven Celsius and he's talking India, he's talking China trade. He's talking about all these other issues. aside from what, on top of what we were talking about and, he's fired up over this, this topic that he had called me about.
Speaker 30 01:59:37 He was passionate about it, and he was really engaged. And if you were listening to the conversation, you might say the president was emotional about it, like maybe almost in a bad way. And if you said that, you would have been wrong because right when maybe that thought would have crossed your mind, and you could tell he was smiling on his end of the phone. He says, don't you love this? Aren't you having fun? And I'm like, yeah, absolutely, Mr. President. I'm like, and you know. The conversation immediately became lighthearted, and even though he is passionate about what he is doing, and he gets fired up over these topics that are really important to to him in this country, he is really enjoying being able to do this in like a very positive way. It's one thing to have four years in the white House to have four more years to reflect on it. The two assassination attempts, you win all the battleground states, you win the popular vote. You have these four years and you want to make it count.
Speaker 30 02:00:35 After all of his experience in life, all his experience as president, the team he puts together with, the great chemistry, we work together, we you know, there's no competition and friction and conflict. We all we we all want to make sure that these four years are as successful as possible. And this president does not sleep. He does not stop working for the American public. And we're coming off of a president who would wake up at like 105 and they'd call lid by 130. And now we have a president who he just doesn't stop. And I mean, that's just one of so many stories, but it really goes to show you that the type of president that we have right now who's fighting so hard for all of us. Yeah.
Speaker 31 02:01:14 Karine Jean-Pierre said one time. Yeah. You're not going to get Ahold of Biden after 9 p.m.. You remember that, Rob? Was it after 9 p.m.?
Speaker 27 02:01:20 I think it was eight.
Speaker 31 02:01:21 Yeah, 8 p.m.. You're not going to get Ahold of.
Speaker 31 02:01:23 Oh. It was. You can't get Ahold of him before 9 a.m.. You can't get Ahold of him after 8 p.m.. And that's Karine. Jean-Pierre. What? What would.
Speaker 30 02:01:30 You round it up, like, five hours by.
Speaker 27 02:01:31 Zero.
Speaker 31 02:01:32 Five.
Speaker 27 02:01:33 Hours?
Speaker 31 02:01:33 That's what works with the president. When you're negotiating with him. What does it not work when you're. When you're trying to?
Bryan Schley 02:01:40 what's great about that is, Patrick met David. You said you've seen him, but I've watched his stuff a lot. Yeah, and before the election he had gone and had dinner at Mar-A-Lago. And the stories that they tell about that dinner, he said that Trump was going to win. And he said, the reason why is because of Barron. And he said it was obvious when they were having dinner who the smartest person at the table was, and it wasn't Donald Trump. And he wasn't meaning to be detrimental to Donald. Yeah. He said, I'm telling you right now, Barron could tell you every issue, and he was basically telling us why this election is different.
Bryan Schley 02:02:28 He's the one that chose where Trump would go on these podcasts. Yeah, right. But he said he said in the background is Donald Trump walking back and forth playing with the the music.
Trent Warner 02:02:43 Yeah. And so apparently he's a big DJ. Yeah. He loves controlling the music, and.
Bryan Schley 02:02:49 He said, we're trying to eat dinner and it's different song. And we look in the background and he's back there punching buttons and Baron's like sometimes, like.
Speaker 27 02:02:58 He's.
Bryan Schley 02:02:59 Embarrassed of his father. Right?
Trent Warner 02:03:01 Well, kid Rock just posted last night because I follow kid Rock on Twitter that I spent time with the president today, and he introduced me to a song that I had never heard before. That was amazing. It was a it was like a New Year's Eve song. Oh, man. Yeah.
Bryan Schley 02:03:17 anyway, before you get to John Madden, John Madden is your end of year.
Trent Warner 02:03:21 That's my end of.
Speaker 27 02:03:22 The show in.
Trent Warner 02:03:23 The year. End of show. Okay. And it's just a quote.
Bryan Schley 02:03:25 I sent.
Trent Warner 02:03:26 Like him.
Bryan Schley 02:03:27 Woody, an extra clip. Oh, nice. And I want to I want to play this. It is a little long, but I think you will like it. Only what?
Speaker 27 02:03:37 It's a little long.
Bryan Schley 02:03:38 It is a little long.
Trent Warner 02:03:39 So what? She said.
Bryan Schley 02:03:40 Okay.
Trent Warner 02:03:42 You may not have ever heard that. Oh.
Bryan Schley 02:03:47 So, You remember California changed its, minimum wage, right? So, like, everything. We have data now, and this is what I love. This lady brings you the receipts, but then you find out things about the law that just infuriate you. Oh, cool. So I think you'll like this. this is cut extra.
Speaker 7 02:04:10 What happens when the minimum.
Speaker 32 02:04:12 Wage goes up? Well, California is getting an experiment in that right now. Just ask Gavin Newsom. California wanted to make sure fast food employees earn their fair share. And that's when 557,000 workers across 30,000 restaurants got an economic reality check. AB 1228 implemented a government mandated pay raise for all fast food workers from 1621 to $20 per hour.
Speaker 32 02:04:34 The bill requires annual wage increases of 3.5% and creates a special fast food council within the government. This council holds the power to set fast food wages until January 1st, 2029, when the council and its authority allegedly end, because government programs always end. And if you're worried about this impacting your favorite restaurant, well, casual dining, restaurants, buffets, smaller fast food chains, donut shop, snack shops, grocery stores, concession stands, most delis, restaurants within a grocery establishment, restaurants connected to an airport, hotel, event center, theme park, museum or gambling establishment, and Panera Bread are all exempt from the law. Apparently, there's this weirdly specific exemption for restaurants that sell bread as a standalone menu item if it weighs at least half a pound after Cooling and Gavin Newsom pushed for that. Do you see Gavin Newsom went to high school with Greg Flynn? Greg Flynn owns the Flynn Restaurant Group. They own 2300 chain restaurants across the US, and that their second largest Panera franchisee in the world has donated more than $220,000 to Newsom's campaign since 2017 and 100 grand, if that was to defeat the recall.
Speaker 32 02:05:36 So for some totally unknown reason, he really wants this guy in office. When called on this eyebrow raising exemption, Newsom said the deal is part of the sausage making process.
Speaker 33 02:05:45 I mean, that's part of the sausage making. That was part of 257, the original bill, and there was part of the negotiation. It's the nature of negotiation.
Speaker 32 02:05:52 So maybe he'll exempt meat shops next. After the bill passed, Assemblymember Chris Holden said.
Speaker 34 02:05:57 The rest of the country is watching what's happening in California.
Speaker 32 02:06:00 And yeah, that's an understatement. One year after implementing the so-called Fast act, we are finally seeing its effects, and they are exactly what you would expect. Rubio's Coastal Grill closed 48 locations across the state. Mod pizza closed five, and Pizza Hut laid off all 1200 delivery drivers in total. Fast food employment decreased by 2.7%, which cost California 18,000 jobs. How much do you make per hour? After being fired, restaurants replaced employees with digital kiosks, and those who did keep their jobs saw their hours decrease by almost two months per year.
Speaker 32 02:06:34 AB 1228 is such a disaster. Even CNN admits it's debatable job numbers at the same time as Gavin Newsom's California lost fast food jobs, the sector has grown in the rest of the nation. To be fair, though, Newsom is responsible for some exceptional growth. Fast food prices are up more than 13% since the law took effect. So are Californians finally waking up to the unintended consequences of minimum wage hikes?
Trent Warner 02:06:59 Of course not. They're not going to say that was wrong. Oh.
Bryan Schley 02:07:02 No. They never admit when they're wrong.
Trent Warner 02:07:04 They're not going to say that was wrong. Like, oh, let's go back. They won't do that. And you know what's even dumber about that. So less jobs.
Bryan Schley 02:07:12 Yeah.
Trent Warner 02:07:13 Less revenue. Yeah. Less taxes. Yep. Zero. The 30% on zero is zero.
Bryan Schley 02:07:19 Like everything you claim to be, you're ruining. Yeah, including your own tax base.
Trent Warner 02:07:26 Yeah.
Bryan Schley 02:07:28 So, I mean.
Trent Warner 02:07:29 But we got the wage. We got the wage rate hike.
Bryan Schley 02:07:33 We got elected.
Bryan Schley 02:07:34 That's what we got.
Trent Warner 02:07:36 Yeah. Sure enough. All right. Well, good. 250. Are you still here?
Bryan Schley 02:07:49 yeah. I was reading your stupid brother's text.
Trent Warner 02:07:51 Oh.
Bryan Schley 02:07:52 Oh. It's okay. He didn't listen to the show. Grayson. Sorry.
Trent Warner 02:07:56 Yeah. Grayson. Tell him. this is just a quick clip. This is what I loved about John Madden. Everything about him was just folksy. You know what I mean? Like that kind of thing. And, this was just a quick quote that I thought this is the embodiment of what he was like.
Speaker 35 02:08:13 I believe I used to say something at halftime. I had no idea what it meant, but I heard it someplace, and it sounded like a pretty good idea. The last thing I'd say was, don't worry about the horse being blind. Just load the wagon. Then let's go. I have no idea what it meant, but some guys kind of got excited when I said.
