Ingredients:
1 pound ground beef

1 onion, finely chopped (a food processor works best)

1 cup water

2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar

2 tablespoons yellow mustard

2 tablespoons ketchup

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 tablespoon brown sugar

½ teaspoon chili powder

½ teaspoon garlic powder

½ teaspoon salt

¼ teaspoon black pepper

Optional: cayenne pepper and red pepper flakes to taste (for extra heat)

Instructions:
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef, breaking it up with a spatula until very fine.

Drain off any excess fat.

Add the finely chopped onion to the skillet and stir to combine.

Mix in the water, apple cider vinegar, mustard, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, chili powder, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.

Stir well and continue cooking, breaking the meat down into an even finer texture until it reaches a smooth, chili-sauce consistency.

For the best flavor, prepare a day in advance and refrigerate overnight.

If you like a spicier kick, stir in cayenne pepper or red pepper flakes to taste.

Serve hot over freshly cooked hot dogs.
