Breakfast Sausage Casserole

Ingredients:

1 package breakfast sausage (hot sausage preferred)

1 can crescent roll dough

Shredded cheese

6 eggs

1 cup milk

Seasonings (such as salt and pepper; optional)

Fresh parsley (for garnish)

Cooking spray or oil (for greasing the pan)

Instructions:

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

In a skillet, cook the breakfast sausage until browned. Drain off any excess fat and let cool for 5 minutes.

Unroll the crescent dough and press it evenly into the bottom of a greased 9x13-inch baking dish.

Evenly sprinkle the cooked sausage over the dough.

Add a layer of shredded cheese on top of the sausage.

In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, and any desired seasonings.

Pour the egg mixture evenly over the sausage, cheese, and crescent dough.

Bake for 35 minutes, or until the top is set and golden.

Garnish with fresh parsley.

Slice into squares (makes about 12 squares, or 6 for larger portions).
